I'm doing a project on human anatomy or some shit like that on pressure points, as in knock out points.
And I dont know really all of them, just a bit.
I was wondering if you guys can help me out, telling me all the points that will knock you out. As much as you can at least.

My friend for some reason is playing Splinter Cell Double Agent and trying to figure out how that sam fisher guy knocks out the people the way he does.
I doubt any of what he does is what you can do, but if you can, can you explain how Sam does some of his stuff as well?

The sleeper hold is elementary, my dear Watson.

It's the Earthling's 'Spock Pinch'.

The police used the sleeper hold for years, but since it has a chance to kill, (especially if you do it incorrectly), it was discontinued.

I have no idea about the reality of Fisher's moves, I'm not sure you would have as much success as he does, using his moves IRL.

put your fingers to the side of your head.
Clench and unclench your jaw.
Those points you feel bulging are your temples.
Just punch then on the side of the head?
It takes a bit more force than that, and it has to be applied directly to the temple (swinging a hammer would probably work for your average man)

Beyond this, I know of a variety of pressure points on the human body that won't knock you out (as far as I know) but will hurt like hell if pressure is applied, would you want to hear those?

just below the inside of your elbow, feel around for the ridge of bone, then push/rub it for awhile.
wrap your hand around the back of somenes neck and bring your fingers up to make a claw, then push (this one is admittedly more unsettling than painful, as it feels odd to be grabbed like that).
Just below someone's wrist on the inside of their arm (centered in the middle) use your thumb to push down.

That's all the ones I can think of for now, but I'm pretty sure I know more.

on a more serious note, theres also one on your forearm.

grab the arm like 2 inches from the elbow and dig your fingers into the top of your forearm where those muscles are. roll your fingers around and theres a crazy pressure point that hurts like a bitch.

i think its actual a self defense trick for when someone strangles you from behind

Thanks, that really helps a lot. I just tried it and it hurt :P

I heard that if you hit someone from the side of the jaw with your palm really hard that that knocks them out. Dont know if its true though :P

Thanks guys, keep them coming if you know more, thanks for the help

That's what I meant with:

I talked about the ridge of bone since it's rather easy to find (on me anyways), sorry that I didn't make it clear enough.

A friend of mine was telling me about this guy who was a black belt in something or the other who was crazy good at it. Basically what he did was step on a nerve in someone else's foot, incapacitating them with the pain it caused.

I have no clue how he did it, apparently he crushed the nerve or something. My friend really didn't go into that much detail

Hitting the jaw can cause a KO, because if you strike the jaw hard you cause the head to rock both backwards and sideways. This motion causes stress on the two sides of your brain, forcing them in opposite directions, which causes unconsciousness.

Doesn't matter if you use a closed fist or a palm strike, as long as you can cause the head to rock back and to the side you'll achieve the result.

Have a scan through youtube for 'boxing knockouts' and see how many of the knockdowns are caused from the head rocking in that motion from a strike.

As far as 'pressure points' go, in my experience they are pretty much b0ll0cks. Sure digging your fingers in someones throat will hurt or be uncomfortable, but is that such a surprise?!

When it comes to using pressure points as a form of defense... well, put it this way, do you see any of the UFC fighters digging their fingers into someones arm or elbow?

When you're fighting high school students they work pretty well, but yeah I'm never going to try this shit to defend myself or anything

It wouldn't ULTIMATE fighting if they were poking eachother, so no, I never have.

Hey tek thanks alot, that helped. I needed more detailed info on the jaw knock out, I really appreciate it bro ^_^

As for poking while fighting, that would be the funniest damn thing to see.
