Infinity Ward just had a live chat (Q&A) session on Best-Buy.com, among many bad responses, this one takes the cake.

# Dedicated server questions were greeted by being escorted out of the chat.
# Max players for all versions is 9v9. Yes, I said 9v9.
# No record feature in MW2 for PC.
# No lean in the PC version (Mackey-IW: The game is not balanced for lean.)
# PC Game is not yet finished*

Sadly Modern Warfare 2 is set to be one of the best selling games OF ALL TIME (Insert Kanye meme here), so most likely if anything happens, it will be dropping PC support all together. That seems like what they really want to do anyway.

No lean? Are they shitting me? Thats the thing that basically started COD was the controls! Removing lean is like removing grenades from L4D, an essential part of gameplay being thrown out...

9v9? I know COD4 played a lot better with no more than 24 players but 9v9?

That has to be the worst change yet. One of PC gaming's biggest advantages is the ability to have large amounts of players due to dedicated servers. Just look at Red Orchestra, 50 player battles!

The original COD was perfect in my eyes, it had everything I could possibly want in a war game. Leaning, ironsights, proper use of grenades and a health bar so you actually need to take cover. Sprint would have been nice though.

EDIT: MW2 is going to be awesome.

I think it's now up to Infinity Ward to prove PC players wrong, to show them that what they are doing is the right thing. If they manage that, all the trust will come flooding back. As to how the hell they're gonna do it, though, that's the tough bit.

Well the 9V9 is due to its P2P like the Xbox and i doubt people will be able to do 9v9 on most residential networks. my internet connection is great and a can barely run 4v4 VS for L4D on a listen server with out people getting over 200 ping

Well i do want to add this this current console gen has done nothing but slow down the great advances of PC gaming and IW is not helping but throwing PC back to 1990

I don't really play CoD for the multiplayer game but still this is a load of bullshit. Slim down features to slim down development so you earn more money from less work - but wait, why not charge more too?

I'm telling you, (even though I'm not buying this until it's on super-dooper special,) the single player campaign better be something both groundbreaking and mindblowing for this to not get the "Biggest Disappointment" Award, which it's already gunning for with all six barrels.

I think the teats of the CoD cash-cow are drying up fast.

Dedicated servers are how multiplayer games work on the PC. You rent a server for x slots and it's yours to do with as you wish. It isn't hosted on anyone's computer and has great ping (so long as you are within 1000 miles of it). You can customize it however you want and choose which ones you want to join via a server list (with the exception of l4d). Basically, removing these means removing multiplayer since peer to peer doesn't work that well on a PC because of ports that need to be forwarded, and lag, and the connection to each other.

Saw a few clipping isues in the trailer and the explosions don't look great but really with graphics of this generation you can't complain too much, they all look pretty good.

They've fucked the multiplayer so badly that it'd be worth offering the game without multiplayer. It might make me more willing to buy it. I still wouldn't but that's just 'cause I hate Bob Kotick.

I have yet to encounter any 12 year olds on Insurgency, they mostly stick to ZP:S and CS:S.

If u get Fallout 3 get the GOTY ver of it for the PC a great buy and then after you have all the mods people have made to add many more hours of fun i think the total time i played fallout 3 since it came out is well over 150 hours.
Well, Fall out 3 was short. Insanely short. I did all the side missions too. I got about 10 hours out of it.

Fallout 3 is my most played game according to Xfire but I played more Jedi Academy Multiplayer for sure as I only got Xfire just as I started to stop playing Jedi Academy :p

If you can tolerate the repetition, Fallout 3 good but Fallout 3 vanilla is disgustingly easy and unbalanced. If Fallout 3 didn't have mod support it would just be another roleplaying game. With mod support you can turn it into a hardcore FPS :D

I didnt mind them that much in singleplayer, but the WaW multiplayer dogs were terrible.

Last I heard, they replaced it and campaign co-op with a whole new game mode that no one has heard of before!

2 players hold off for as long as possible against increasingly difficult waves of enemies

How about this?

Assassination

Two players spawn in ghillie suits and are packing high powered sniper rifles. The map is perfectly open.

The other 14 players spawn as usual enemies, SMG's, shotguns, rifles and all that.

It is the job of the snipers to locate and eliminate several targets around the map. It is the job of the soldiers to kill the snipers and protect the VIP's.

Destructible Environments, real world realism, and vehicles, including helicopters, would make this a gamemode I'd play.

Sadly I find most game modes like that get extremely boring after about the 5th time you play it. Except for Nazi Zombies ... I don't know why, but that's always fun to play with a full party of people. Even if most of the time I'm on "Window Duty". Your other game concept does sound fun, but it seems that there might be balancing issues.

As for the issue at hand ... I am in support for PC getting dedicated servers and the like, but I am still going to get this for the 360. If there's some petition or some crap I might sign it, but for me this is nothing new. Since until recently consoles had been my only option for gaming, and as such I don't feel very affected by their lazy decision making. ... Plus its hard for me to go against a company that brought me CoD 2 which was my first online game, and the one that allowed me to meet my people that I'm still friends with today.
