lots of lag in 360 version

Just wondering if anyone else with the 360 version or even the pc version is getting lag in games?

I got no lag today. =) Looks like there is more bandwidth available. I've play on several dedicated servers and had 2 yellow bars or 3 green bars. No red bars today. I've notice how my team might have all yellow bars and the other team might have red bars so some of you might still be getting lag but I got no lag today. Thanks Valve!

Are you playing on a dedicated server? Don't. Switch it to a Local server.

Same problem Switch to local server and if need be turn off laptop or computer internet to reduce the lag..

I haven't tried today but I created a versus game on a local server yesterday and everyone was getting lag except me. Local servers are meant for a small group of people, not 8 players in versus mode. Local servers are good for campaign. I hope the dedicated servers are not laggy anymore.

Yeah it is laggy as hell. Too many people playing at the same time. Do what Bloodshed said and do local game. It seems that these companies that have dedicated servers and know how many people are buying the game don't ever seem to provide enough server bandwidth to accomodate everyone (especially at the time of release). I guess as long as no one complains why should they change that?

Just play on Local Server...it doesn't lag hardly at all. And I'm sure Valve is still working out the kinks of the servers (hopefully)

Are you playing on a dedicated server? Don't. Switch it to a Local server.That's what I did. Smooth as silk for everybody.

I started on Versus and Scavenge game on a dedicated server last night/this morning, there wasn't really any lag at all. There was some moments of a little lag, but nothing that was a hinderance.

It would seem that there are not enough servers to support the number of people. It's about time they shut down the demo and transfered the servers over, as this is getting really bad.

I'm getting the same thing. Bought the game on Tuesday and have yet to get a good game. I know you can toggle from local to dedicated but I don't play this game with a group of people so i have to go through the matchmaking system just like the first game except when i bought the first game day one it worked.

Host a game, switch it to public lobby, wait for people, switch it to local server, play.

I can't host games which is the issue. Aside from this fact A big online Blockbuster should not be released broken. I love the Game its just a shame i can't play it.

I understand that this issue is common with games that doesn't make it right. And my connection has an issue with hosting gamers it usually lags everyone out. But when i play games online my connection is solid has been for years. I'm fine with not being able to host that doesn't bother me, what bothers me is having to jump through hoops to get a decent game online. I know its an issue with many games when the ps3 socom came out of the gate it was broken for a month and I didn't wait for it to fix i traded my game and moved on. But i love these game and only hope that they fix it fast.

Local only works when the person hosting the lobby has a reasonably high connection. Otherwise it tends to be worse.

I just played this afternoon on some Valve servers and it was unplayable. I can host, but every time I set it too local game it said there were no teams to play. I switch it to dedicated and I get a game, but the lag is terrible. So, I either don't play or I play a game that is so laggy I ca't play anyway.

Either everyone has shitty lag or for some reason one team has shitty lag, the other great lag.

At times the lag alone makes this game unplayable. Landing a Jockey or Hunter with a red bar is impossible.

I was playing one game of versus and my team had all yellow bars and the other team had all red bars. The other team would constantly drop because of the lag and new people would join and then they would drop.

The lag is funny. If you have 1 red bar and you walk around, it seems like there is no lag, until you melee a infected or even a wall, you won't hear the melee sound until 2 seconds pass.

I've not had a single lag problem playing it online yet. Of course, my connection is Jesus.

In case you guys missed it:

We have upgraded our network infrastructure to better accommodate the huge response to L4D2. 360 players will now have lag-free servers. We've also added more dedicated servers.

We will continue to monitor the situation and add resources as needed.
