Xbox360 solution (to no new levels from modding,etc.) Suggestion to TRS!!!

TRS should include kinda what bungie did on Halo3, where it says "bungie recommentds" and you can download maps and stuff....they should have a section like that on L4D only on the xbox360 version, and it has the maps/maybe modds people are playing from the PC version. well the good ones at least.....

it wouldn't cost anything to download a map cause it's not like they made it, just ones they've played and thought were cool and would like to share (how bungie did it)..........(I know when they come out with their new maps I'm buyin them 4 sure, but this is just for in the meantime)


now I'm not sure exactly how they'd put it from the PC to download from LIVE, but I don't think it would be hard.

i like pc and xbox..but u know i grew up with a nintendo contorller in my hand and i just cant let go so plz TRS do something simaliar to halo 3..just as they should do like with SSBB for the wii wen ur playing with someone wifi and they leave a bot takes over...

I'm really hoping the next generation of consoles has games that work with both a controller, and a mouse+keyboard combo. Giving people the option to choose which controller to play the game with would rock, as I like anything aside from FPS games on a controller.

Well what did you expect, it's a topic on another 360 problem. Getting it for PC is not only better, because it automatically solves many of the problems the 360 version faces, it's also on a PC. So therefore, he proposed the most conclusive answer, can't say the same for you.

Btw, can't you just plug in a mouse and keyboard and play? Like on the PS3... Pfft, can't afford PC, but you can afford to pay however much for the Xbox and Xbox live, and continue to pay it to get updates.

Yeah, I've always wanted to plug a keyboard into my Xbox, god knows it'd make typing easier. I don't think it can handle it... yet! First of all, you cant make your own maps in Halo3. You can only add more weapons and items to the maps and maybe some objects. But you cant modify terrain or make maps from empty.

Even if L4D bundled with a developer's kit, saving the maps would become an issue. TRS or Valve would have to provide servers to save the maps to. And you would also have to convert the PC mods to work in the Xbox360 version. Not really possible, or at least extremely hard to do.

Why would that be funny? The PC version would be put in GMod, and have an SDK... If you find it being pathetically inadequate to the PC version funny then.. well going ahead and laugh your ass off. In fact, laugh your ass off when we get Rat maps, RPG, Superhero, Matrix and maybe even GG mods.

Sadly, the 'superior' is hardly ever defined by preference in the case of Consoles vs. PC... 'Preference' only takes a role when the Console party has run out of cards and doesn't want to consider facts.

It also bugs me that '3 Year old Dells' are permitted into the arguement against PC's, but almost no one on the PC 'side' has ever brought up decades old crap console failures. Mainly because: they don't need to.

I'm really not claiming one to be better than the other. I don't even care if Xbox players and PC players can or cannot play together. But how can you sit and expect to get everything PC gamers get on the PC on your cheaper, less powerful console? Sure, it'd be neat, but as someone else said, there would have to be servers to host the files and mod conversions would be extremely tough. It just won't happen. This is where the PC wins in the argument. It's made for stuff like this, and has been for a long time now.

As expensive as consoles are getting, and the more they become like PC's, it won't be long before the whole argument is over with anyway. I can't see XBOX and Playstation going much further before becoming PC's. (HOORAY FOR NINTENDO!!)

now, i was thinking about the original question of this thread. and its a cool idea, if done right it could be LOADs beter than H3's Forge.
and heres why. . . .

my main problem with forge is i could fuck about with a map for hours (never did) and then invite all my friends in to play on it. but i would imagine most of my friends will have done the same, so then we have the conflict of &quot;oh my High Ground is beter than this,&quot; and so on.

with L4D i could spend hours customising a campian to my preferance and then invite 0 - 4 players in, i could play it on my own if i wanted, so there would never be ppl unhappy with ur creations, and if they have there own, just add it to the list of ones to try and get thru.

also i have heard some ppl on H3 say &quot; we only lost that match coz u made the map&quot;. . .

L4D COOP for the win, no probs there because it can be 4 against AI all night if needs be

and finaly, Left 4 Dead is cut into maps within campains right. . . so imagine if u could split up the maps of a campain and mix and match, of course it wouldnt sync up corectly at all. one second ur in a warehouse the next on a farm but once u have played through all the campains, it would be awesome to be able to take ur favorite maps and construct ur own campain, maybe make ones twice as long as normal campains for a new challenge or have a random map connect button with puts u in and u never know which map will be next. :D

well, any keyboard works for typing stuff in, i have one pluged in all the time to do messages to ppl n shit.

but its more complicated when trying to get it to work for controles in a game, the addapter converts what the xbox thinks ur pressing on ur pad when u press it on ur keyboard and mouse, and yeah microsoft are pretty gay for not just making key &amp; mouse work.,

to be truthful i bought the addapter to see if it was any good, but anyone who plays both 360 and PC will notice the differance. as u can imagine, games for PC work in harmony with the mouse, because in the menues and options ect, there is a mouse there to press stuff with. and it translates to the game, for example, if u have to shoot somthing top left of the screen, it would be as easy as opening My Computer on the desktop,

but 360 games arnt made like that so u can tell its ur mouse telling the addapter to tell the 360 to think the analog stick is going left and up, for this reason 360s will never work with a keyboard and mouse as PCs do. and it didnt take long before i went back to the 360 pad, but i love that anyway. i use one on some PC games too.

oh and no, u dont need sofware, just the addapter and a wired pad, (not wireless with a charge and play)
