What if they let the servers cross like they did for that game so that way ppl from pc can play with xbox 360 owners and the other way around....? good idea? yes/no?

Or are they doing that ne way?

I would not like that, like it has been said before, it would give 360 users some sort of aiming advantage at one point or another. Not to mention Pc gamers are a different breed from 360 gamers. Console and Pc don't get along, and it would get nasty XP

I'd assume thats a bad idea, because there will always be differences between game play on a console and a pc. Personally I find playing a fps on a console is more difficult than on a pc. Thats just me....

That's a bad idea, as explained 3209457207502 threads ago.

It's not a bad idea at all. It worked near flawlessly for both console and PC. I have the game..

I've heard that people complained about "features" that where supposed to "level the playing field" but indeed bothered both groups of players.

well, i guess all these types of problems with some people want it, some dont, can be solved by just having settings in server creation to choose whether you want to have consoles and PCs or not...

SHOULD THERE BE A CROSSPLAY FEATURE?
They can implement the feature AS LONG as you can have an Allow CrossPlay-Switch to turn OFF/ON when looking for/creating servers. Then, for all I cared they could CrossPlay as much as they want. Just leave me out of it ;)

WHY I WOULD SWITCH IT OFF
Imho this would be a bad idea. Not because I think the concept is stupid, but the main difference between L4D and Shadow Run or UT3 for example is that it's Every Man For Himself most of the time. In L4D you rely on your teammates to such an extreme degree that I wouldn't choose to play with a console-player.

Shadowrun was a terrible game, so I don't trust its showing of crossplay.

As always, cross-play is a new idea that will work perfectly when someone does it right. Stop judging things based on bad examples of them.

All it takes is someone doing a new idea right before people accept it.

If people kept implementing fps games terribly then people would think fps' are a bad idea. RPGs would rule, like japan...

I remember this one time. Back in the land of Vana'Diel. Before the JP and NA were segregated, before people were anal-retentive. I disliked playing with people on PC (I was on PS2) because there would be times when the White Mage wouldn't heal for a good... 3 minutes and everyone would be like "Wtf?!". And the White Mage would respond... "Sorry lol, hard lag".

But you know... this was back when the FX-57 was thee hottest component.

i think this would be one of the few games this would work with, apart from the fact that in both formats, noobs will go bye bye, because if ppl suck at this they will get booted or die fast or say its shit and leave the game.

i would have no problems if they crossed it up. if the game works well enough to work on the xbox360 and it works well enough to fend off AI infected, then who could have a problem with it?

for example:
2 PC survivors
2 360 survivors

VS

4 PC Infected

if some ppl out there are saying that they can shoot a boomer faster on PC and shit like that they may be right, but i prefure realistic game play. maybe 2 of the survivors have not shot a gun before and are ever so slightly slower than the ones who have, but thats only if u beleive that EVERYONE on PC is faster, which they arnt.

the thing everyone needs to keep in mind when it comes to this kind of this is there are shit players on both sides. . . .

most ppl are like: " i play PC there fore 360 players are wrong slow and sexualy inferior to me ". . . well i am better than alot of PC gamers with a pad in my hand, but im no where near as good as some players.

so my over all piont being. . . if 4 random players enter a game of L4D, and no one has any idea what platform the other ppl are using. u could end up with 2 shit players. . . . on ether platform.

Lmao, you'll tell who the console players are.
They're the ones aiming around like tanks.

Why would I want to purposely gimp my team by playing with console users? If the option exists, I'd like the ability to toggle it off.

gorgoth
12-16-2007, 12:46 PM
I think that if they incorporate this, you should be able to toggle it to avoid complaints.

Nemesis_vs_Leon

toggleable is good for the complaints just to make this whole topic pointless.
