Actually I think it's pretty crappy, having played it yesturday. The one thing it handles very well, however, is the number of players.

Slow zombies are more intimidating in my opinion. I seriously can't stand Resident Evil for that reason, because as soon as one gets close to you, they lunge and grapple you. Not to mention, they're the ones that can tear you apart rather than beat you to death. So yeah, I see nothing wrong with slow zombies. Anywho, whether slow or fast zombies, I'd still play this if it makes it out into the world :)

It sounds very promising, but I have my doubts. I always thought the problem with console MMO's is that they expect us to pay to play, when we're already paying to play. (Least for 360 gamers)

As for the zombie debate ... both types of zombies have their charms. Slow zombies are extremely menacing, especially in closed off claustrophobic environments, or in vast numbers. Of course the same could be said of Fast zombies, and they'd be more likely to actually catch you. ... It really boils down to preference, and in that case it really doesn't matter since the guy said that he planned to use both types of zombies.

Also is it just me, or does anyone else imagine "shufflers" to be more durable than their speedy counterparts?

Sounds awesome. And about the slow zombie/ fast zombie issue. Has anyone here heard of a game called Survival Crisis Z (some of you may have). Well my friend gave it to me and he tells me that some college guy made it for his game making class or something. Anyway the reason me and my friend like it is because it has both slow and fast zombies. Example: There are survivors in the game that you can save but if they are infrected and they turn, then they are fast, but the longer they are a zombie the slower they get. So basically newly infected will be faster than those who have been infected for awhile.

I agree it's not 100% perfect to use, but 90% of the time it gives you a rough idea if a game will even run on your computer.

It judges your PC correctly as long as all your devices are installed and named right. Sometimes the computer can't tell what kind of motherboard, CPU, or even GPU you have; then SRL can't tell and it gives you a bad match-up. All it does is match what you have versus what the game says it requires to run it, so most of the time it's right.

So today I was out sailing the mighty pacific with a few of my friends. There was Ol' Pete, he's in pretty bad shape from a bar fight a few years ago but you'd be surprise how well he can fight with that pegleg. There's Jimmy the Kid, won't shut the fuck up but he's a good kid, and a damn good cook on top of that. Then Bill Beardy, he generally keeps to himself, only talking to that damn parrot. He's actually tried to stage a mutiny a couple of times, with only him and his parrot though. I mainly keep him around for the amusement. He has a couple of screws loose. Last but not least, there's Hank. Good guy, and a damn good ship-hand despite that hook.

We had a pretty cruisy day. The couple of port-side towns we looted had little protection, and those that did were very kind about it. Just gave us what we wanted and let us on our way, even gave us a complimentary few rum kegs!

We kept looking for that bloody treasure, although to no avail... again! All the small islands look the bloody same. We actually hit something while digging, but it turned out to be a rock. You should've seen Jimmy's face when he though we had struck gold! He must've jumped 5 metres into the air.

We ran into a few native landlubbers, they weren't much of a problem. Hank got a few with that hook, laughing the whole time. He's a crazy bastard. We hauled ass after that though, didn't want the reinforcements to show up! We were on our way to the local port of sin when we were 'ambushed' by the navy. Piss poor excuse for an ambush it was. One boat, and we just tore it to shreds with the canons. We all swung over (except Hank, that's the one thing the hook has prevented him from doing) and killed or captured the rest. I still remember one of those scared little recruits swinging his sword into Pete's leg. He seemed so relieved until Pete jerked up his pants to reveal that he had hit his pegleg. Sent that guy straight to the bottom along with all the other prisoners.

We looted everything and then made them walk the plank. A few of them we liked so we kept them, hopefully they'll grow to trust us and become part of the crew. The rest were shark-meat. Nothing too eventful. One of them shat his pants and we all had a good laugh at that, but the rest were unusually quiet.

We reached land by night and now all the boys are off drinking or finding a good whore. All-in-all, a good day.

there is no console mmorpg. Also, what people ask for a ton in the zombie "mmo" ends up more just survival with a large player count. Jeff Strain isn't making what people ask for; he's making the rebuilding part of the zombie apocalypse no one really wants. Survival is needed, not rebuilding.

Hey Guys,

Chris from Game By Night here. Saw the link back and the question about blurring. The shirt says "Ask Me About My BIG DICK" (their caps, not mine). I pulled it from the UL site. It probably didn't need to be blurred but lots of people check the site from work, so I did it to keep it safe for them. Not like an employer seeing a giant fucking zombie would send up any red flags or anything, but, hey. There's a couple more pieces of concept art on the official site. We need a developer to show people that an MMO has much more potential than grinding, quests and lots of clicking. Making an MMO in a non-PC environment might be just the thing required to force paradigms to shift.

Last time I checked MMO's use a mouse heavily for movement and overall interactions in the environment. Using the left/right analog stick is clunky and if their aiming for just straight third-person FPS style, then no.
