I recently bought Zero Gear, made a thread, no one cared, I'm fine with that! But after lurking around on the official ZG-Board I've found a link to the music composer of ZG "Hyperduck Music Studios (http://www.hyperduck.co.uk)". And seeing through all those projects of hyperduck I recognized that there are a lot of awesome indie games, already released or soon to be. Thanks to youtube I found some other indie games too and I just wanted to share those games with you and hopefully you know some other indie games I've never heard from.
Katakijin (http://katakijin.en.softonic.com/):
- probably a ninja gaiden inspired game
- released and free to download
- youtube link (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MI9_QhK5_Hk)
http://img25.imageshack.us/img25/7093/katakijin1.th.png (http://img25.imageshack.us/i/katakijin1.png/) http://img25.imageshack.us/img25/1721/katakijin2.th.png (http://img25.imageshack.us/i/katakijin2.png/)
A.R.E.S. (http://trashman.x10studio.com/):
- like megaman, except you can shoot up lol
- release summer 2010
- youtube link (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O9XiG61lqpw)
http://img25.imageshack.us/img25/7284/77620001.th.jpg (http://img25.imageshack.us/i/77620001.jpg/) http://img25.imageshack.us/img25/9574/60092719.th.jpg (http://img25.imageshack.us/i/60092719.jpg/) http://img25.imageshack.us/img25/2906/47157761.th.jpg (http://img25.imageshack.us/i/47157761.jpg/)
Dust: An Elysian Tail (http://noogy.com):
- I know there is a similiar xbox-game, a workmate told me, but he can't remember the name! so maybe one of you know the game which probably was used as inspiration here
- release not yet announced
- youtube link (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tR7vE6l1MN0)
http://img25.imageshack.us/img25/245/still04f.th.jpg (http://img25.imageshack.us/i/still04f.jpg/) http://img25.imageshack.us/img25/6272/still06.th.jpg (http://img25.imageshack.us/i/still06.jpg/) http://img25.imageshack.us/img25/9531/still10k.th.jpg (http://img25.imageshack.us/i/still10k.jpg/)
Legend of Zelda 3D (http://www.pixelprospector.com/indev/2009/09/legend-of-zelda-3d-project/):
- "Legend Of Zelda 3D Project is a zelda fan game with a similar graphical style like the DS titles."
- release not yet announced, it's in a pretty early stage of development
- youtube link (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7JeWFILX0eM)

Seriously? no one? I mean look at those screenshots and the videos, those games look awesome and are made by only a few people!
Is there really no one interested in indie games?

Dust and Trashman both look pretty good actually. Might be a bit of a hassle acquiring them however. I might try and pick them up sometime, when they are released.

Braid was an indie game. wasn't it? Amazing music in that one. I'm not very big on indie games, some of them are alright; such as the impossible game and I MA3D A G4M3 W1T4 Z0MI3S 1N IT!!

Yeah I heard of that one, but somehow all the screenshots and videos didn't attract me that much so I never played it. But if the music is really so amazing I think I'll give it a try!

I've been playing the hell out of VVVVVV. Great concept with great execution, interesting graphic style, and AMAZING music. You can play a demo here: http://www.kongregate.com/games/TerryCavanagh/vvvvvv-demo
The full game's 15 bucks for those of you that want to show some support.
Also, Flood the Chamber (http://gamejolt.com/freeware/games/platformer/flood-the-chamber/1419/)'s really good, too.

TrashMan is the most interesting IMO, the others didn't attract my attention that much. Going to download it's demo later

Oh lol the gameplay (the up and down, if you know what I mean) remembers me of one Shatterhand (for NES) Level, but it looks sweet!
Also for those who like Point'n Click Adventures you might be interested in:
Machinarium (http://store.steampowered.com/app/40709/)
- the style of this game, the story and the puzzles are very nice
- released, but don't know if the price differs for each country (you probably know the 1$≠1€ controversy)
- trailer on steam (http://store.steampowered.com/app/5407/)
http://img718.imageshack.us/img718/7696/machinarium02.th.jpg (http://img718.imageshack.us/i/machinarium02.jpg/) http://img718.imageshack.us/img718/338/machinarium031.th.jpg (http://img718.imageshack.us/i/machinarium031.jpg/)
I thought it was a bit short, but I enjoyed every second playing this game!

Oh god that game is impossible. I just played that today and couldn't get anywhere at all.
But I came to post because today I've been playing TowerClimb. It's very fun:
http://gamejolt.com/freeware/games/platformer/towerclimb/1459/
Basically you climb a tower and can jump and scale walls and ceilings and you try to set a record for highest feet climbed.
If you like that game you might also like Spelunky:

Indie Games Database Top Freeware Games List (http://db.tigsource.com/top?code=&content=&developer=&engine=&genre=&language=&max-price=0&min-rating=&page=1&platform=&publisher=&release=&tag=)
Do not, for your own good, download Flywrench. It is unbelievably rage-inducing.
Nikujin is pretty fun/cool once you get the controls down, but is also really hard. (If you want to download it you'll have to search on Google; the link there is broken. Also, beware: game is in Chinese[Japanese?]).
Banana Nababa is a game comprising only of boss battles, with the visual style of Cave Story. It's hard, but I recommend this one.
Karoshi and Karoshi 2.0 are awesome puzzle games where you attempt to kill yourself each level.

Well the graphics look kinda old and outdated and at first nothing seems to be really interesting about the game except zombies.
However, project lead, designer und writer is Brian Mitsoda. Brian Mitsoda was the lead writer and designer of Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines and who ever played that game (apart from the bugs) knows how brilliant it is.
So that's basically the only reason I'm looking forward to this.
