I've been searching all day for something, I opened up my Xbox 360, cleaned the laser thing, cleaned out all the dust inside of it and still nothing.
Everytime I put in a game disk, it says "Reading" but then nothing happens and it just says "Open Tray"
But DVD's and music will work, just not the game. And I put in every xbox 360 game I have and it just says "Reading" then "Open Tray"
I dont know what else to do to it. If you have an xbox 360 or know of this stuff please help.

I had a simular problem. My Xbox 360 was fucked up by one of those de-magnatizers at the register.
The moron had us waiting too long, and had the Xbox laying down on its side...ON TOP OF THE DE-MAGNATIZER.
After that, my uncle was asked if he wanted a returned one instead of a fresh one...talk about dumb! There's a reason it was returned!
Went back, noted how stupid they were, and got another one, but I got my money back because of the poor service.(SCORE)

lol. Every system has its problems, don't just bash the 360 just because you hear bad things about it. :/
Let's try and avoid another console war please..

I got the red rings of death just last night. I moved my xbox to a slightly different position and it worked. I don't know why it worked though, maybe my cords were in a wierd tangled position.

was it all four lights red or just three? Cause my friend had it for all four, which turns out to mean that it's just plugged in improperly.
Complete bullet dodge on that one.

I borrowed a friend's 360 to play AC, and when I was done with it I brought it back to his house, and when we were there, he started hooking it back up, and all four red lights flashed, and I panicked because I thought it was the RRoD. It just needed the signal cable.

as common as the red ring is, MS have extended the warenty if u get it which is cool, coz it does happen alot. i recently traded in my old 360 for an elite just to have to security of a warenty again. but to be fair i have wanted to kick the shit out of my PC more times than my 360 and that is made from loads of different places.

Thats what happened to my first Xbox about a month after buying it. Did you get it from Bestbuy? If so, just walk inside and replace it.
