I recently got the demo for the PS3, and I have to say it's a fantastic game, it's everything I want in a military shooter. I think EA and Dice made a gem this time! I was worried that the player cap was at 32, since I consider myself a battlefield vet having owned almost every pc title that has existed (2142 and previous), and the 32 player cap seemed odd. But their map progression system is great, it keeps the players in one large but well laid out area, and when all points are destroyed it moves the players into the next area to defend, and moves up the spawns to push the other team back. It's a ton of fun. If you have not experienced it yet, you can download it on xbox, ps3, and PC (but only if you sign up for the beta or have preordered).

The sheer amout of things you can blow up is amazing, almost everything can be leveled, and as the match goes on the way the map plays out can be dramatically altered. One minute you're talking hold in a large house, next minute there might be no walls on the house and only a support beams are left standing, and you have to scramble to get out before it collapses.

The classes are pretty great too, Medic is my favorite so far, reviving team mates can really turn the tide of war. And the COD style of health is well done too, it has the "if the screen goes red then that means your almost dead" health system. But you don't heal very fast, it takes roughly 30 seconds to go from low health to full health, and if a medic is nearby they can get you to full in about 5 seconds. So they are very valuable.

Recon class is the sniper class, the guns are pretty strong, 2 shots to kill anyone if you did not hit the head. But their real strength is their C4, don't underestimate it, it can be used to make new paths, destroy tanks, and even destroy objectives. It takes about 9 pieces of C4 to destroy an objective, so if 3 recon guys run in and plant all of their C4, you can take down an objective in less then 10 seconds. Faster if you include a vehicle to blow up as well to do more damage.

Engineer class is pretty good as well, they have silenced guns and a rocket launcher, and have the ability to repair vehicles, they come in handy when you have a tank in enemy territory.

Assault class is the standard soldier, they have an assault rifle with a grenade launcher as their special ability, good for taking out groups of guys, and they can plant ammunition boxes for people to get resupplied.

I have tried both the Xbox and PS3 versions and they are exactly the same, both run well, though ps3 seemed to have screen tearing some times, the fps was too high or something... Both were fun and controls were very good. It was odd though from switching between the two, each system had different play styles, the xbox users seemed to rush more to the objectives and were better shots, but lacked real team work, while ps3 users stuck together more often, but were slow to act. Both play styles worked though, it was fun to see how the community plays, and taught me a lot of tricks.

And I got my hands on the PC version last night, the PC version is a lot tougher then the console versions, a lot tougher... The weapons accuracy has been dropped on all weapons excluding the sniper, but the sniper was nerfed too because when you look in the score it gives you this weird bulge and kaleidoscope effect making it harder to aim. And the made it so turning the canon in the tank and other weapons like that require large sweeps of the mouse to turn it just a little. While the console versions they are only slowed down a little. The squad system is much better on the PC, allowing you to pick and choose your squad, while console just randomly drops you into one. I hope that is changed when the released for console. And I noticed PC players work together the best... My whole team on defense was wiped out by a single squad of 4 guys that seemed to be in sync... Also on the PC version some things have been moved around to make destroying the objectives harder. But that's all I can recall for changes.

Anyways, any 411 members want to play?
My PC name is ShadowStreak
PSN is Splinterfox
and GT is Shadow Streak

So how has the demo been for you?
