I had a bio that was offensive to noob choobers so I got banned for a day. I've been banned for a week for the same thing and it's never going to end. I'm going to get constantly banned because I edited it atleast eight times just to get it right, I've already been punished for it and now it's gone too far.
The Moderators are fucking ridiculous too. They arn't even offical staff, or atleast they don't act like it they act like little kids and never give an explanation just direct you to the same thing and refuse to unban you. I'm being serious when I say the only option is to sue the bastards.

Yeah, we need some context to see if you or them are in the wrong here.

Yeah, we need some context to see if you or them are in the wrong here.
While its stupid to put things in your profile that are going to get you suspended, I'd say the system they have established is bullshit, no matter what the context. Take a look at this timeline they use as an example:
3) Jan 31 2010 - You want to add a catchy line from a movie you just watched to your Bio - Well I'll be a son of a ***. The *'s are some random word that are in violation of the CoC. FIRST INFRACTION (There is now 1 Infraction on this account)
4) Feb 5th 2010 - You decide that your Location isn't specific enough so you change it to Location - USA SECOND INFRACTION (There are now 2 infractions on this account.) You edited your profile without removing the problem words in step 3.
5) Feb 18 2010 - Xbox Live sends you an e-mail and a 2 day suspension for infraction 1. At this time Xbox live writes Code of Conduct in your Name, Location, and Bio fields like they said they did in the e-mail. (There is still 1 infraction pending on this account)
6) Feb 20 2010 - Your Suspension ends. You go in to your profile, delete the Code of Conduct in Name, Location and Bio and write instead: Name - Jeff. Location - Texas. Bio - I love kittens. (There is 1 infraction pending on this account. See step 4)
7) March 2 2010 - You recieve a second email from xbox live and a 7 day suspension for Infraction 2. At this time Xbox live writes Code of Conduct in your Name, Location, and Bio fields like they said they did in the e-mail. (There are 0 infractions pending on this account.)
That means that you are getting punished for things before you receive word that you're doing something wrong. Per their explanation, the act of saving your profile with the offending content still there receives an infraction and each infraction you get increases the punishment. So, say on the first day that I add this naughty content but I can't decide what I want to put in my bio, so I change it 7 times. I'm then going to be punished incredibly severely, banned for many months, for what amounts to be the same crime if I only updated my profile once.
Not to mention the recent crap they went through about specific words describing sexual orientation violating these rules. If we think about this in a situation before they've (finally) pulled their head out of their ass and allowed these words to be used, a gay gent could have entered in some description of his sexual orientation, completely unawares that these bastards think they're being inappropriate, and then end up having their account banned for a year before they get any warning.

I'd still like to know what ScoobySnax wrote. I had a friend who put "Hitler is cool" in his motto and got an infraction, and then proceeded to change his bio to something along the lines of "lick me sideways and give me your man love". It would be fair to say that that particular 2 day suspension was pretty well justified.

Sure all that deserves to be punished. But the system itself is disgusting and broken. They've only just now back pedaled out of my disgust over their statement regarding language of sexual orientation. They believed that words describing sexual acts were inappropriate in a gaming community with children, failing to recognize sexual orientation as an identity, not an act. No different than if I were to say that I was a proud Hungarian, Ohioan, or what have you.
For me, what someone did to get banned several times makes no difference when the justice system enforcing these rules is broken.

It doesn't realy matter what I put. Everyone gets punished the same unless it's racist ect... I recieved my punishment of a one day ban, then a week and I will recieve a further 7-10 punishments of larger length each time. It will easily exceed a year or even a perma-ban, all from ONE MISTAKE.
Anyway, just out of interest, here's what I wrote:
" I hope every single swetty motherfucking noob-choober using geek in Modern Warfare 2 needs to be gagged, raped, burnt, buried, dug-up and then buried again. I HOPE U ALL DIE"
/drunken rage.
Though may I add whilst writing it I did not know that Live would even let me write it at all since it won't during the motto. Though now looking back it seems pretty stupid anyway.

I deserved to have my 11 months worth of Live wasted? It is a standard issue 1 day ban, just enough to make you change it and never do it again. Not virtually a years ban.
TBH I thought my bio had fucked up because it was even letting me write that. If you write anything in your motto that's offensive it doesn't let you.
Oh, and did I mention It's like 2 months old? I deleted it after about a week because I realised that all it takes is some random guy to view my profile and click file complaint.

You clearly broke the rules you agreed to when you signed up. No matter when or how long you are punished, it is justified.

If a 10 year jail time were the punishment for even the most minor of crimes, we would have a much smaller crime rate.

Don't do the crime, then you won't do the time. Nuff' said, you shouldn't of been doing anything stupid with your profile in the first place. That being said, now you know not to do it again. Just my two cents.

This is why people shouldn't even fill out their bios. It's the internet, no one cares about what you have to say about yourself. Let that be a lesson.

Exactly, and if you want to fill out your bio, just don't write something crazy, I just have something along the lines of "Always willing to play and always bored, also RB2 > GHWT", I just keep it simple since most people will not even read it. Though my brother though made some cool block art in his bio that says his gamertag. That gets a lot of attention.
EDIT:Also, whenever you sign up for anything, you should know rights, this goes for credit cards, loans, subscriptions, services, anything really that makes you agree to their terms. Read it all, and understand it all. Because if you don't like something in there that you are forced to confine to, then you can save your money, time and effort by just backing out before you even sign it. There is a reason they give you that big ass block of text, it took me about 10 min to read the whole XBL agreement, it's not too bad.

Second. I never have this issue with PSN, and it's free. Over the coarse of a year, I probably play on PSN... a couple months. I can't justify spending the money on Live to do that.

Xbox Live does have more features that I use on a daily basis. The simple inability to get a group together across different games to talk is quite annoying on PSN.

Was just at walmart 2 days ago, saw a blu-ray player for 150, looked alright too, PS3 is one of the more expensive ones now. Kinda funny to see... Anyways, Xbox Live is a good service, but the real crime of Xbox live is their storage solution, I have 6 gigs in songs on Rockband (don't judge me) and that is half of my content on my hard drive, and somehow my 20 gig hard drive only reads that it can hold 12 gigs, I'm guessing it's fragmented, or all those shitty avatar items are downloaded onto my hard drive and are eating up space... And I can't afford paying 120 bucks for a 120 gb hard drive, that's absurd for it being a cheap case and a basic laptop hard drive...

I would take a PS3 over a 360 any day. Much better exclusives and free online. If it weren't for Halo 3 and the PS3 having such a slow start it would be dominating the console war right now. I really couldn't give two shits about Live's party chat anyway.
