I loved the overall feel of it. Like the dramatic scene where the black guy couldn't shoot his zombified wife. Very good acting so far.
Only problem I have with it is the shambling zombies. I understand if there are "some" shamblers but they don't seem very threatening to me. I hope they introduce more breeds of zombie as the show progresses, or perhaps the zombies might "mutate" over time. The black dude called them "Walkers" so I would assume there are also "Runners". You can't call tall people tall unless there is smaller people to compare them to, catch my drift? Yeah. I personally hate the old-fashion "there are too many of them, they surround you, you run out of bullets, you're eaten" conundrum.

Yeah, even them jogging is a big deal as they attack in mass. I'd hate for them to be sprinting with 1,000+ after one guy. The story would quickly end up turning into poop.

Loved the pilot episode, especially the part where it's only been like a week or two since initial outbreak and his wife as already disbanded all hope for her husband's survival and ran off with his partner to make sweet love.

All I'm saying is they need to make it more original than that. A bunch of shamblers are going to get old after a couple episodes, especially after the first season. Variety needed.

I like Romero's logic, the biggest enemy is not the zombie, but the chaos that ensues because of zombies. It's the other survivors that you have to worry about. Zombies cause Anarchy, Anarchy causes.... interesting stuff to happen.

It's alright so far. Acting is average, not to mention the start is almost too much like 28 Days Later (although that's the fault of the comic). The only thing this has is being the first (that I know of) zombie TV series. If it were a movie then it would just be like any other, maybe even a bit worse.

How does being a slow zombie necessarily make them stronger or harder to kill? Not only is the fear factor gone, but most of the time it takes a single shot to the head. The only problem that ever arises is being outnumbered or out of ammo. I've never had fun in any slow-zombie game. Most of the time it's an absolute snooze fest.

Honestly, just be glad that there is such an amazing TV show with such great production value on such a great network. They seemed to be covered in zombie blood, and they were all .50 cal browning m2 mounted machine guns. Weighing in at the MINIMAL 60 pounds and the average is 84. i dont want to be caring that around when a horde of flesh eating monsters come out of the dark. i would stick with a 6 lb shotgun.

i didn't notice anything but the .50 cal. but i don't doubt that there is other guns. also who off the streets knows how to clean and use a military gun. (seriously maybe 1 out of 10 can, and automatic guns would kill the fear of zombie attacks. Well, it worked out. Plus, as seen in the 2nd episode, the tank isn't the best place to hide. With multiple people, air would run short quickly. Even if they could get the tank running and figure out how to drive it, the sound would just attract more Walkers. It's called drama, and this is a drama series, as long as this goes on, human conflict will be the center of attention, not the zombies. I have a feeling this shane and lori relationship is going to keep popping up constantly through the series getting more and more dramatic each time it goes on, and it'll end in a bang (probably literally)at the end of the series.

Now that I've seen the first season of this I don't really think I'll get into the second. My initial excitement was most likely just the fact that there was finally a show about zombies, but this one was a little dry and boring. I didn't really like the ending either.

Have you seen the newest android phones? They have superb voice recognition, all that's needed is some extra code to do anything with voice, and ta-da, you have an "AI" like the walking dead.. And it's a public item, I know the government has some nicer tech the public hasn't gotten their hands on.

The one thing that did tick me off though was the brain animation, now that is way too far into the future. The bullet indicates the subject wasn't in an MRI machine because the bullet was almost straight down, also because a gun would probably explode next to an MRI machine. So no known scanning technology that detailed exists. That was just my peeve.

Anyways, good show, and I can't wait to see this thread pop up in year. Hopefully I will have a walking dead AI on my phone when I next post in this thread.

The show is looking to be way better this season. Just hope they manage to fit the many other interesting story arcs and other characters as well. I'm expecting to see Tyreese soon considering (if you read the books) he is a pretty vital character and his story line pushes the overall tone of the story in a dark direction.
