L4D Scenario Ideas (movie/franchise based)

We were just talking in the Steam Community group chat and a lot of people were coming up with cool ideas on scenarios for Left 4 Dead.

Post them here!

The great thing about L4D versus any other multiplayer game out there is the swarms of AI, which make L4D VERY compatible with tons of popular movies/games/themes.

My idea would be to have a Matrix scenario, where you go through all the popular scenes from the Matrix movies and fight swarms and swarms of Agent Smith, which would be easy to do - you just have to make one model/skin. You could have the Survivors be Neo/Morpheus/etc.

That's a great mod map! But realistically though, I want a carnival map. At the end you go to the top of a ferris wheel where a helicopter picks you up.

By the way this sounds like, this game is going to really be a smash hit with modders. You got Homer Simpson fighting Predators in CS:S zombie mods. So I can just imagine what will pop-up in this game.

I really like the bounty hunters vs wookies. You could mix and match lots of heads/fur patterns, and then just specify certain fur colors with the others. I'm pretty sure you can do all this because they already specify female/male zombie parts and other things so they don't have weird combinations.

Edit: Frogopus said this in chat, but I'll post it - you HAVE to have something where it's the 4 Southpark kids versus whatever. Forest creatures, hell's minions, Goths, turkeys..

Also, you could just have the Survivors vs a bunch of emo kids.

Somebody also mentioned I, Robot which would be sweet, and all the robots look the same so it'd be easy after you have that model.

Yeah, and we were also talking the other day, Warcraft mod in L4D?! 1000x better than a CS version, you actually can kill NPCs and everything. It'd be great if the people did that looked at L4D and did it. I'm not sure exactly how far modding can go, but as long as you can keep track of experience/some other numbers, you could have a full blown MMOFPS going on!

This thread wins! I love these ideas lots... though, I still want my Resident Evil themed stuff =P Nemesis, The Licker, Hunters, etc. Staged around Raccoon City, different locales from the games, recreated in source. Allow players to progress through the city, through the sewers, the labs, the trainyard, and other places. I'm actually very tempted to start learning to map just for this reason.

And the 300/Helm's Deep/Matrix ideas are fucking cool.

- The L4D devs Vs. us, with our "ZOMG GIVE US THE GAME" screams of pain... all infected with "hype" (which the game is said to live up to, so I'm not sure if that makes it hype or not)

- Halo-like, 4 spartan-like dudes on another Halo-like thing, battling to get off it. Tank - Hunter-like (from halo), Smoker - A black armored Elite-like with new technology :-p, Hunter - I'd say an Elite-like dude with knives on its hands, Boomer - A grunt-like thing riding a big explosive blob. Witch - Beam sword elite-like dude, with glowing armor and very ferocious screams. Normal infecteds would be assorted aliens.

- And something where the infected, normal ones, have AI that involves more than melee attacks. Like throwing rocks and such, maybe. Or having really awful pistols and really awful aim, but ranged attacks nevertheless. I just think it'd be a cool change of pace to play a mod like that every once in awhile, cause then you'd really have to watch your back and be careful.

How about I Am Legend? We have a black guy and a woman (even though Nevill was white and blond in the book), so all we need is to make up "Holdout Mod", where you scavenge for stuff for a barricade and fight off the horde, and invent two new original characters.
