You guys complain about doing the same old thing. But, aside from the Wii, that's all consoles are. Hate to break it to you, but there is not much "new" stuff you can do when you get to this point without changing how you play the game, rather than the games you play.

Stop complaining about franchise games. It's retarded. Metroid is in no way the same game as Metroid Prime. And while Metroid Prime and Metroid Prime 3 are part of the same franchise, they have totally different control schemes, and different gameplay elements. The same goes for the Mario games (compare Super Mario Land to Super Mario Galaxy).

I can't believe someone would even have a problem with sequels, as long as they are fun to play. Look at the PS3. They don't have many games out, and even fewer are fun to play for longer than an hour. But they have a system seller coming out: Metal Gear Solid 4. Guess what? It's a sequel. Will that detract from it's awesomeness? Not at all. Why? Because all of the Metal Gear Solid games are fun... why would you try to change something thats already fun, just to be different? The same goes for Xbox. They have Halo. Did they change Halo at all really? Nah. And people still love the game (Not me... err, I enjoy the singleplayer at least).

The point is, Nintendo is actually the FIRST to do something totally different. The fact that they still have their main franchises, like Zelda, Mario, and Metroid, is a testament to the fact that they know what they are doing.
