I think it's because the sun makes it hot and the contrast between the hot sun and the cool water is what appeals. Rain doesn't have quite the contrast.

Ok, how about you set up the bomb with two trip systems one near the end of the gentleman’s tunnel and one at the beginning of the useless tunnel so you can set up the bomb and run out and not even have to activate it just run back threw and it goes off, and the other one just in case he tries to get through.
