This is getting really dumb and depressing. The last time that any new info came out that was official, excluding magazine scans, and LAN parties was with the hunting rifle image. They say Q1 but it's now looking like Q2. People are losing interest in the game because there is no release date, hardware requirements, or anything basically. Also there is a teaser trailer that is very short and really doesn't show the game that well anymore. They really need to work on advertising because Q1 is going away soon.

As dontleave says, chat things just turn to sh*t, people spamming, asking stupid questions that the answer to is already available. Its a waste of the TRS guys time and makes l4d411 look stupid. Far better having pre-set questions for them.

Agreed. Having questions ready would be a good idea. Possibly follow-on questions depending on answers but that can be asked at the time of course. I think more than a couple of people chatting to Mike or TRS would be a bad idea... And unnecessary. If it is decided that's what is going to be done, we should start a thread where people can give suggestions as to what questions they would like answered (reasonable ones...) and start a list.

Well, but you have to remember, that's coming out in a month, so we're hitting that lush "media blitz" timeframe.

Guys, Valve has their own time table for when they want to release information... its not like they've forgotten that we want to see new stuff. Needling the developers for information will not work. They're not suddenly going to offer up secret information on a release or beta to some unofficial chat because thats just bad marketing. We're all subject to this time table but more will come, just sit tight.

yeah but that still is bad advertisement because they announced the game over a year ago and showed nothing about it other then 1 map and how the game plays.. thats it. what makes it worse is that they have been giving tons of estimated release dates to give players an idea when they can expect to see the game.

they said Summer 2007 first, then Winter 2007, and then "after christmas" 2008. now Summer 2008. and even then they still cant give a clear release date saying it will be released in August or September. anyone who has ever followed this game since it was announced has to wait a whole year and a half before they get to play the game. that is bad advertising because they keep changing there minds. i would understand if it was some legal issues or company bankruptcy but the fact is that they felt confident in releasing the game and got players hyped up for it and then they slamed those fans down FOUR times. this is how games lose sales because of stuff like this.
