Wow...delayed to Summer, *sigh* thats weak, but did any1 notice that this was announced RIGHT AFTER valve absorbed Turtlerock. Seems when turtlerock joined valve they also joined the "were gunna delay this 1-4 years after when we said we were orginally gunna release it cult"

Is it so hard NOT to show off a game, not to build a hype about, and wait until ur like 90% done before you tell people about a game. Companies like valve need a gagorder. they are not allowed to say/hint/comment on a release date unless they are 100% sure. I would so wish i NEVER heard of this game. Ignorance is most deffinently bliss...

This is the only reason why i support hackers and theives who shanghai the betas. Plz, i beg you. sum1 in the community who is not on "the list" hack valve, steal the alpha or beta and distribute it to us! I WANT L4D now and i dont care if its the real deal or a pirated verison!

Notice, that TRS never gave concrete dates about L4D. Only estimates. Delays mean that a company wants to make a game better, and I see no problem with that.

Oh, and supporting the hackers and thieves who hurt a game company isn't a good idea. I hope they DON'T get their sticky little fingers on it, and damage TRS/Valve. I've played the game, and I support it and the company that makes it enough to pay for it and thus support them.

yeah seriously. call of duty 4 did it and that turned out to be such a great game. even greater because i wasn't sick of hearing about it for a whole year before release. since they announced it the same year they released it, that helped a lot. i just hate wen developers announce a game and don't plan on it being finished anytime soon.

You cant stop pirates from doing what they do. It's like telling a pair of tits to stop being so fun! But I personally agree with Clamzoni_of_RI to an extent. I only avoid piracy if its something I respect, be it a music artist, movie director/actor, or developers in this case. I live in Canada, and piracy here is not a real issue. w00t!

So, you'd rather play an unfinished version of the game, and be disgusted/dissapointed/unhappy/waht-have-you when certain mechanics/maps/weapons/classes don't work out, than a fully-fleshed out and playtested game? Delays are near-inevitable in game design. Game designers aren't omnipotent planners incapable of delay.

We probably know that an unfinished version will evolve into something beautiful, we probably know that more content will be provided later, but game's journalists do not! That's what cost TF2 some % of their score; They shipped with 6 maps only.

....bugs weren't hard to find. The game isn't finished. If they let me, I would have carried my magic wand in, said "PRESTO!" and we'd all be playing L4D and drinking wine made from distilled pixie magic. But, the rela world doesn't work like that. A few things to note:
-TRS never announced a release date. Only estimates. So technically, there hasn't been a delay.
-The announcement came after Valve aquired TRS. Testing occured over a month ago.

i can see how hype can ruin a game. i never heard of stalker until it came out a year ago. i loved it wen i got it not expecting what to be in it. but i notice that everyone who was so hyped for the game were disappointed. i so hope left 4 dead doesnt turn out this way because this is my most anticipated game of the year

the reason for my above post, is all my hype for city of the dead was transfered to this game, so it`s like i've been waiting for several years, at least 4.
