Just announced today. It is basically BF2 on the Frostbite engine. Looks like it could be good, signed up for the beta, I suggest others do the same! =)

they just reused bf2's assets and inserted them into the new engie, nothing new really, but hopefully the new levels look better than this!

Don't get me wrong, I love BF2 but BF1942 is superior. Would love to see this game get a revamp, (and not a half-arsed revamp that is yet to make its way to PC, aka BF1943.)

Well, my friend got into the beta, I only got to play it for an hour or so, but I got more then enough of it.
It's exactly BF2's strike at kirkland map, no changes, same textures, same models.
The running animation is broken completely, I'll be doing a walking animation when I'm sprinting.
If you walk on a curb it completely stops you at times, even if your sprinting. The servers are still in their early phases, so it's laggy.

Guns are all over the place, firing from the hip feels way to accurate, while using the sights feels inaccurate at times.

Stairs make the character walk like they're in complete sludge, and if you stand still you might actually slide down them.

The keyboard controls aren't that great, I don't remember the exact layout, but it's BFBC2, but with some annoying additions.

If you play in full screen and go back to windows it will freeze windows every time since it doesn't actually stop the .exe because it tries to load up advertisements.

Overall, it's still a massive buggy mess, it has promise, but the beta basically killed it for me. I don't really care if I get the key in the mail at all now. I'll wait until it's done.

Yes I do realize it, but it has to be the buggiest beta I have ever been in. Ever. It felt like I was playing an alpha version, and I've played many alphas in my time. I'm just going to skip the beta, and wait for the full release. If I get a key, I'll probably give it out to someone.
