Avatars

Due to popular demand, avatars are now implemented :D

This isn't a for sure thing, we'll see how it goes and if you guys like it.

You can choose from either the pre-existing avatars or you can upload your own. They must be less than 5KB in size, less than 60x100 pixels and in either gif, jpg, or png.

We'll be adding some more to the pre-existing ones as time goes on.

To change your avatar: Sign in and go to 'profile' on the top of the page, you'll see your options from there (upload a new one or choose from a list).

4 meg? Make sure it's under 5KB, usually has to be a .gif file.

FYI those that having trouble with avatar..

Found a llil website that can resize them, not the best one but all i can find atm. Either create avatar or just resize it.

Set custom pixel dimension to 60 and should be fine.

You just said it was 70x70. The max width is 60. Just resize it down to 60x60.

I think limit should be changed to 100x100, 60 is lame. I can't use the other 40 pixels for height as it'll screw my aspect ratio =/

Its from a bigger picture i have done but it kinda distorted when i shrank it a bit :S, oh well and puscifier ill tell you a good program for drawing and what not....its called microsoft paint and im not being sarcastic or anything hey im completely serious ive done Heaps of GOOD pictures on just good old every day MS paint (my avatar may not indicate it but im serious. IF you want to see the whole picture in proper size i can send it to you if ya like?

There is a &quot;save for web&quot; feature in photoshop which can really shrink a picture down.

That's only 8.92 KB and it goes over the dimensional minimum of the forums.

What the tool does is it reduces the amount of colors in a picture by fusing two different colors near each other into one color. Since the human eye isn't so good with colors on a small scale the picture looks about the same with fewer colors. You can select what KB size you want the picture to be and the tool will reduce the colors untill it matches or goes under the required amount of KB.

Here is an uncompressed version of the same picture. It's saved as a jpeg instead and uses more color than the previous one but can you really notice the difference?
