Aye that sucks. since this game has been delayed till late summer you should have enough time to save up enough money for a 8800 GT. ;)

well you definetly need more RAM. 2 GB is good. other then that, just a graphics card upgrade if ur just looking to play left 4 dead (which will play great on a pentium 4). so yeah just upgrade RAM and your Graphics Card and you should be good. just dont expect to play games like Crysis on high settings unless u plan on getting a dual core CPU and 8800 card.

There's a good chance you could have an AGP graphics card, in which case your upgrades are limited.

I'd suggest increasing your RAM, 1gig minimum, and getting a 79** series card or something along them lines.

Don't get either of those two.

His motherboard might be an AGP motherboard, in which case that card wouldn't even fit, and the board wouldn't make use of that RAM as its more advanced than the board is.

As I said above, if its an AGP motherboard then you'd need a good 79** series card.

BTW, 8600 is a bag of wank anyway.
