I cannot believe three years went by that fast. I first heard about this game 4 & 1/2 years ago i think. I've still been playing it, but rarely now, since I'm in college two days a week, and I have work the rest of the week.
Anyone else been playin L4D lately?
I'm getting up close to 300 hours; I'm at 270 and im pretty sure 240 of those were in the first 6 months, up until after Survival was released.

It's been at least a year since I touched either of the Left 4 Dead games for any length of time.

I tried playing l4d2 last night just to try it again and couldn't get back into it. But I am surprised it's been so long so fast

Yeah, it lost the appeal after knowing every map inside out.

I will definitely never play L4D again, unless there is another L4D only DLC someday. Apart from that, I still enjoy playing expert realism in l4d2 now and then (especially the old campaigns of L4D), but valve somehow fucked something up and my server won't update anymore. But I'm too lazy to reinstall it.
So who knows when I will play that game again.

If I ever learn to mod, the first thing I'm doing is adding L4D zombies and making a zombie game how I want it.
Its definitely possible.

That would certainly be more fun. Replacing the AI director with a person would certainly mix things up

Zombie Master 2.0 anyone?

Yes please, sir.

You guys really over estimate the modability of L4D. Unlike previous valve games, you can't build a mod off the L4D codebase so you don't get access to any of the code. All the modding has to do with adjusting the script files, but of course that overrides all the stuff in your game. A zombie master 2.0 would be more feasible on the Alien Swarm or Orange Box codebase, since those are available.

Well obviously, porting the zombies and their animations is clearly possible as shown in the video above.
What I mean is taking the zombies and creating a whole new game with them. After all, L4D is just Counter Strike with a fancy AI director.

I think the experience I had in L4D versus with the worst community to ever exist will haunt my dreams for the rest of my life. The word "pub" or "pubs" will also inspire horrific images.

Versus was pretty fun with 3 other friends.
Now with people you don't know its a nightmare.

Versus was fun playing competitively, until we realized how easy L4D is hackable and how little valve cared.

I remember playing versus and having so much fun, but it was way better if you played with friends on your team...plus versus got me almost as pissed off as when I used to play Modern warfare 2 online...I've never gotten that angry at a video game before.
The one thing I AM happy about is that I don't have to hear the words "ragequit" or "pub" anymore.

I still remember how awed I was the first time I watched the l4d intro video and played No Mercy. So many good memories... Left 4 Dead will forever be one of my top favourite games.

I don't remember ragequitting that much since I usually played Campaign or Survival.
The times I did play versus, I played with these 3 Chinese guys who were pretty good despite me not understand a word they were saying. I ran into Blackcat a quite a few times in L4D2, the most memorable ones being when she ragequit. :p

That L4D intro is still one of the most awesome intros I've ever seen.

I ragequit from pub games a lot. It was usually when the other team (or my team, unfortunately) was mouthy toward every mistake made by any player whatsoever. I also got invites from friends who played 20x more than me; I didn't feel very welcome during those either.
That L4D intro is still one of the most awesome intros I've ever seen.
Agreed.

It was already deleted. It took my "I last played it 6 months ago.. :/"
post and turned it into: "I last played it 3 months ago.. :/"
Such a genius!
