Just thought I'd share a thought I was working on the other day about the Boomer infected. In the recent Firing Squad interview, Booth explained that the Boomer offers two possible attacks (explosion and vomiting which we all know):
"The Boomer, for example, is filled with methane gas and can blast nearby Survivors if shot in close quarters, causing him to explode like a bomb. Alternatively, he can empty his gullet by projectile vomiting onto an individual Survivor. This vomit attracts a horde of common infected to attack whoever is coated by it."
The way he phrases this makes me wonder whether the vomiting has some effect upon the methane levels. Perhaps, the Boomer has a certain "vomit level" which would affect his final explosion. One would assume that if this is the case the Boomer's "vomit level" would slowly rise with time and decrease with vomiting. A low "vomit level" would result in a much smaller explosion than a vomit filled Boomer. This would add an additional level of strategy as a player would have to balance between spewing of vomit, while still making an effective explosion when he dies.
Keep in mind this is just me speculating, but I think it would make for an interesting balance.
