crap. total crap. the cgi was great, the action/ fighting/ swinging sequences are as good as the first two, but the plot, and character development sucked.

Not really. This one was nowhere near on par with the first two.

People only say that since Venom (or the Venom on Eddie Brock- Venom is the actually the name for the symbiote and it has a mind of its own) had barely any screen time. Since they are mad make up stuff to hate. I agree that the movie didn't doo good justice to venom. I for one couldn't care less about venom, he was just one part of the Amazing Spiderman (issue 300? somewhere around that) and the black suit kept popping up everywhere in -secert wars the punisher everywhere- and became a stale plot line. I'm glad they didn't pay too much time on venom.

Nice you went for the mindless thriller. excellent ;).
One other reason why a lot of people thought the movie sucked was because it was cheezy.
2 words for them : it's spiderman.

Isn't spider man hyphenated (not like so)
I never went to a Spidey movie for plot, mostly because im a comic book fan, and theres never been one marvel movie where they actually stuck to the comic book plot. I know why, because the rhino is a terrible terrible villain, and no flaming heads for spider man only fantastic four.
The second one I liked least of all... But consider two things, is that its not a drama, and I could care less for a plot infact id rather have almost three hours of spider vs. sandman, then spiderman vs. hobgoblin, and THEN spider man vs venom.

yes its a movie based on a comic book. but...i paid to watch spiderman fight venom, new goblin, and sandman, and instead of making me give a shit about sandman, venom or newgoblin, i got 10 min credits 20 min of spidey fights 15 min of flash backs and a good 30 min of spidey dancing and walking down the streets to disco music with his brand new "im a bad ass emo hair" and omg guess what MJ and Parker have relationship problems again for 45 min.

Spoilers. Duh.
I hope whoever made this spider-man gets crucified. Everyone who says you don't see spidey for plot/drama is absolutely right. I see spidey for destruction and him kicking the shit out of supervillains. But no, as stated, we get relationship issues. Wtf.
The best part of the movie was when Peter just belts MJ by mistake. Everyone was quiet for a second and then one dude in the middle of the theatre said "She had it coming" and we all burst out laughing. I clapped.
When a scene that's supposed to be intensely dramatic and sad and what not gets laughed at, you know the movie has failed. They would've been better off cutting venom, cutting new goblin, and definitely cutting most of that stupid emo MJ/Peter shit and just had Spidey vs Sandman for the whole movie. Or Spidey vs. Venom. Or Spidey vs. whoever.
Oh, and venom did suck balls. He's supposed to be this huge, strong, anti-spiderman but instead of someone huge they got dumbass topher grace. Not to mention the voice sucked balls. And the mouth. In fact, the symbiote after parker was one large ball-sucking machine.
Also: I was so out of the movie by that point that I managed to notice:
1. A goblin bomb right beside Harry's face scars him slightly while a goblin bomb about the same distance from topher/venom leaves no traces behind. Omfgreturningvillainwhocarescausenoonewillseespide rman4.
2. The sandman cries. He's Made Of Fucking Sand. Water Is His Fucking Weakness. If he has water In Him To Cry Out than he's already screwing himself over. Retarded! And then he flies away on the wind to go rob a bank while peter mourns his dead idiot friend. Nice.
Anyways, if you want to laugh, go to sleep for an hour, watch a semi-cool fight scene with a few silly logical fallacies, and then laugh at some bad acting at the end -> See spider-man 3.
If you want to see a good movie go to Hot Fuzz ;)

The Spiderman movies have always disappointed me. My favorite hero and one of the biggest productions out there and yet I just can't get into it. Maybe if you all think its bad, I'll like it.
Favorite new superhero movies:
1) X-men 1-3 (3 was a little weak)
2) Batman Begins
3) Hellboy
Daredevil could have been great if it wasn't Ben Affleck and Superman was enjoyable but I can never get into the hero. I don't think anything can replace the Tim Burton Batmans for me though.

I agree with you on all of those except X-men 3, which felt like suck to me. One thing to remember about the spiderman 3 movie is that about 1/4 is spiderman doing his thing. The other 3/4 are relationship crap and a bit of humour mixed in. And the relationship crap is done really badly. They're stupid when normal people wouldn't be stupid and in ways that are just... stupid.
Batman begins though... Double thumbs up on that movie.

I liked Batman Begins also, except for the damn actor who plays him. I didn't like him in Reign of Fire, Batman or the Illusionist? What was that movie called, where they are both magicions, him and Wolverine... (dont remember real actors name) Anyway, I just dont like him for some reason.

tbh i thought the movie was ok. Granted... the plot was quite strange and the news flashes in between action sequences were laughable. But i wasnt actually interested in the plot or character development... i was there to see how far animation development had got... and my god... i was impressed. How can on compare the action sequences to a spiderman made 1 year ago. The animation and special effects were far superior, and hans zimmer... once again gave it the much needed atmosphere during these sequences. 300's animation cant be compared to this film as they used the advantage of slow motion, although they still did a seriously good job.

I liked it, the emo dancing sequence was a bit too long but even then I still quite enjoyed the film.
But omg, why would you choose MJ over that hot blonde girl in his class? she was niiicee.

lol dont get me started on the emo bit... as you said... it was a little too long. His hair cut was kwl though. The blonde was fiiinnnee... but they kinda had to stick to the plot... no matter how loosely tied it was.

Well I fancied Spiderman2 more then 3 and one was good. I have to admit I had goosebumps and all nervous at the end of Spiderman 3... Which is a good thing id say I loved the 2 vs 2 at the end and dreaded the death of one. Not to mention Venom was all lame... Plus Sandman lived and does his thing more...
Why does all new Marvel movies have to have a Enemy die at the end??? Lame!
Plus all that NJ PP thing well was to much I agree...

No, I agree there was definately something lacking with the movie. I just love the first two so much that I appreciate it just for the fact that it concludes the trilogy.

I love Christian Bale. I never saw Reign of Fire because it looked awful but Batman and the Prestige are two of my favorite movies. (Illusionist's lead is Edward Norton who is fantastic: Death to Smoochy, Fight Club, Kingdom of Heaven, Red Dragon etc etc)

It was ok, not worth paying for though. Makes me happy i watched it online for free really, the effects were good but most of the flashbacks and relationship BS was making me sleepy.

Yeah, I saw the Illusionist and the Prestige around the same time, they were both excellent movies so I kinda got the names mixed up.
And yeah... Peter should do Gwen. Also is this really the last movie? Because I wanted to see Carnage and stuff... You know, maybe in a while they'll start doing comic crossover movies.
So its like Carnage and Venome vs. Spider-Man and Ironman. And then they do the whole civil war thing. But right now I think thats a bit too much for the standard population. Would still be cool though, especially if the comic artists (atleast for the Civil War Crossovers) were incharge of design.

I swear I just saw someone say that they liked Hellboy. I didn't read the comics but I did make the mistake of watching the movie. It sucked, it was a friggin dragged-out kiddie movie.
What would kick-ass is mutant Spiderman vs. Wolverine. I would kill to see that movie... as long as it was written and directed by people other than those that did the first three... the only thing good in 3 was Bruce Campbell, he is awesome.
Oh, and X-Men 3 was comparably worse than Spiderman 3. It was long, and the action was retarded. The last battle disappointed so much, I literally gagged on my breath. So there are about a hundred mutants standing around and all they do is charge at the cops using little to no powers?! One guy was able to climb walls/ceilings, and that's IT.

Batman is a DC character, so I don't think we'll see him fighting Spider Man. I also think cross overs wont be done for a LONG time, and I really hope all the greatest directors in the world, for the first crossover do the Civil War.
And yeah, that was my FAVORITE scene in the entire movie, the part RIGHT after he takes his coat off and he starts snapping/strutting his stuff to Gwen, omg I balled my eyes out laughing and just thinking "Wow" All the minutes of MJ and PP boringness paid off in that scene. I think I've replayed that scene more than the actual fight scene/climax at the end of the movie. The woman who plays Gwen Stacey (Bryce Dallas Howard I think) is a babe.
P.S all the mutants around in X3 were low level. They couldn't do much, they were pretty much fodder for Magneto, and the fact that they were being shot by supressant darts is well... you know.

Hellboy has clearly developed a large cult following as of late, but its not a cult movie if there aren't people to hate on it.
I agree about X-men 3 though. The second is still one of my favorite hero movies.

Yeah, I agree; the scene he's talking about was meant to be a bit of a cruel slaughter.

Me thinks it'll be Sandman and Spider-Man vs. Venom (MAYBE, if they get either the Don's son or Mac Gargan but I don't think it'll be Mac Gargan, because they haven't even put the Scorpion in the movie yet).
So uuh, Sandman and Spider-Man (I say Sandman because they were on good terms at the end of the third movie, really it should Iron-Man, but I dont think the world is ready for Marvel movie crossovers yet, and besides Iron-Man is featuring in his own movie already.
Yeah back to my point. Spider-Man and a potential other vs. The Lizard, Gaunt, Carnage or maybe new Venom and possibly Scropion as the new catalyst villain, like Sandman was in 3, but everyone wanted for Venom. Dr. Connors, Stromm Mecendale (I think) and obviously the Symbiote (a piece of which Dr. Connors had) are already in the movies, so they're likely the basis of the next movie. It's also hinted that a character we thought dead is actually alive, I dont think its Harry, because since Gwen Stacey has already been introduced im thinking its Norman, Norman will kill Gwen Stacey in the next movie.
All of which is speculation of course.
