I'm just curious cuz I think it would be awsome to have then again I think every game should have it ever since Halo 3. but thats my opinion.

well if you have ever played halo 3 there is this saved films feature. which basically saves any games you play on video be it matchmaking or campaign. and in this saved film you can take pictures and video clips. you can also detach the camera and move it freely through out the enviroment so you can get cool angles for videos or if you wanna do machinema. and I was wondering who would like to see this feature in L4D.

ummm I guess that would be nice?
I mean, it is on pc, so you can use fraps or something idk

ya for PC users it is not to hard to do that anywyas but for 360 users it's almost impossible

It's almost like you can already record demo files on Steam games...

Team Fortress 2 has that, to a lesser extent anyways, but yeah that would be totally awesome!

I hate fraps, it totally destroys your frame rates, even on a beasty machine. It basically needs a hard drive and processor all to itself.

i think its a good idea, the saved film feature would be for bragging rights saying that you beat the hospital campaign on the higest difficult and the film is there for proof.

the real question is will u be ok with waiting a little bit longer for them to add it or maybe it doesnt take that long to add but if it did would you

Just curious of what kinda beastly machines you've played with.
I use fraps at 60fps and sometimes can't tell if its even on.

it would be better of they just released a way of changing the format of the Console Demo files so u could do it for all games, without using fraps...

and maybe later on they could release a video editing sweet;P

where people could make machima etc and post them on there steam community pages;P

Better to think of stuff like this as a Steam Development then a single game idea;P

Ever since I used the Halo 3 theater mode, I believe every game should have it. It really is amazing. So simple, and you can get some really cool stuff. It's the only thing I still go back to Halo for. Cause it's pretty dull otherwise.

its a pretty silly question, because only an ideot wouldnt want that in a game.

who the hell voted NO? lol

its there if u need it and u can egnore it if u dont like that stuff, dont know who wouldnt like the ability to save a vid from a campain. and even tho it was pro in Halo 3, it would be more helpful in this, watching a campain that u played with ur mates and seeing where they like to wait to ambush u. and watching it from another survivers point of view. yeah i would love it.

What is the difference between this and just making a demo with hltv?

3Ghz Dual core with a 2000Mhz FSB
2GB of DDR2 800 (C4) ram
SATA2 HDD (320GB)
SLI'd 7600GTs (Yeah, i know, they aren't great, but that's no excuse for Fraps running like a piece of shit.)

On as many systems, I've never seen Fraps run a half decent game without severely dropping the frames. Though I have to admit I haven't used it since my second last upgrade. My point still stands that it sucks.

If you remember to do so, type in the console "record demo "XYZ" and if you want to stop, just type "stop". When you want to play it, type in the console "play demo XYZ". For every game though and it does it automatically? That would be neat.

Hell yah. think of the movies u'd be able to make with it. of course, red vs blue might come in.

well I see that it's pretty obvious that everyone (well almost everyone apparently 3 don't think so) would like this feature in the game. however Hobo_under_fire makes a good point the real question is will u be ok with waiting a little bit longer for them to add it see he's got a point if they did add it might delay it not by much mabey a few weeks but still it would not sit well with most people because it's been delayed so much but whatever. also it might be hard to do machinima you'd have to do so many takes because of the randomly generated hords.

I see no reason why this would delay l4d. This seems like more of a steam update than something that should be included in just one game.

true but you also gotta think of the 360 version I mean you might be able to make it an update but again I don't think it will work well if they did that.

Dude, fuck the 360.
why do you have to start another system war, fuck you if you don't like the 360 version if you don't like the 360 then don't buy it for the 360 no one wants to here another argument about whats better 360 or PC like.

If you are going to take the time to type something out at least make sure people can understand what you are trying to say.

Source already has a demo feature so all they would have to do is auto-enable it or something. I think SiN Episodes did it for Arena mode games.

most games on the pc already have the ability to save the action. this is not new. its only new for console games. the real question is, why would l4d be different and why are you all discussing it still?
