See something interesting? Zombiebot poisoned Player 3? I haven't heard of any boss infected being able to poison anyone as of yet?

I love the HUD, but I really don't like how the zombies just sit there in a lot of the videos. I sure hope that's on regular difficulty.

Oh yeah, the guns sound so much better. Even though this is a public test play, meaning they probably have a serously decked out sound system, I'm sure it will still sounds decent on standard 2-speaker computer set up.

i just noticed that on one of the videos, the person switches between the shotgun and pistol firing a few bullets between each switch. On the shotgun, you can see how many bullets in the clip and how many left total. On the pistol, you only see how many are in the clip. Could this mean infinite ammo on the pistol?

You most likely do have infinite ammo with the pistol, just so you always have a gun to defend yourself with.

That would be pretty overpowered seeing as how it can drop a normal infected in 2 shots.

Besides the mentioned changes I noticed that
1. merits/demerits are not popping up anymore (ff, reviving, boomer-ff ...) but appear in the loading screen of the safehouses
2. survivors have infinite pistol ammo (on easy=normal=whatsoever)
3. survivors actually walk slower when wounded (not just a wounded animation)
4. dead survivors drop their items

Infinite ammo with the Pistol would be so carebear. Why do you think you should be able to survive if you run out of ammo? IMO the fear of wasting all your ammo should keep people moving so they have to fight less infected.
It seems like there are two camps of players interested in this game honestly. People that want a real zombie apocalypse kind of sim game. An people that just want another co-op shooter game. TRS seemed to have started out catering more to the first crowd but with Valves influence its now looking like it can go either way. Hopefully they at least have options so people that want the more hardcore experience can get it.

I know right, they should really do something about it, like add different modes catering to the different types of players. Maybe, difficulty modes?

There's no melee in this game.. so unlimited ammo for the pistol is ok.
And also... This game as never been any kind of zombie survival simulator (since you always have something like 300 bullet in your main gun). It's just a fast and brutal action-horror coop-game.

seriously, in almost every video you see them melee.
and pistol vs 100 infected is pretty bad and also vs a tank, but what about when you duel wield pistols? then it is way overpowered

To me, "realism" is irrelavent. In fact realism can ruin a game, especially if its botched. (think AWP. its a "real" gun that can kill you with a toe shot).
Unlimited pistol ammo is fine with me, so long as you spawn enough zombies to make me need it. As I posted before, I also think that the pistols are vastly inferior in terms of kills per time. So yes, maybe you can kill infinite zombies with them but can you do it before they kill you?
I can tell you right now that whenever I have the choice I'm gonna take the m16 over dual pistols every time.

I really don't like the time it takes to reload specially with the m16, it just takes a moment. as we see in the IGN video, the guy just reloads after every single shot

I think you mean they walk slower while being wounded. There's a massive speed drop while taking damage, makes it impossible to run away. Don't know how much I like that, we'll see.

Addressing the Standing-around-doing-nothing zombies, I think what they were trying to get at is to put a little bit of George A Romero zombies into the already 28 Days Later ones.
Zombies don't have their senses as good as a normal human, and if they don't see anything worth claiming, they won't attack. A zombie does not know why it is there, other than to protect itself and others from the healthy humans who find the zombies a threat. Once they realize that there is a human nearby, which could take some time do to their horrible sight, they aim to destroy it at all costs.

in the start of the video there are laying handgun magazines and something that could lokk like mp5 magazines og something, but there are no mp5's in the game and as you say you have unlimmited rounds with the hand gun, so why does that make sense?

when he reloads at 0:42, he doesnt pull that thing on the top of the gun back, i dont know if this is new but if it is new this could mean faster reloads.

well.. imo, when the zombies just stand around.. someone attacks them.. they go ballistic.. i think thats awesome even if it is on easy.. BRING IT ON HARDCORE MODE!

Despite your uncanny matter-of-fact knowledge of fictional enemies, they're not zombies. It's also been mentioned that they still have the exact same senses and responses as regular humans, they're just blood lusting.

Hey everyone,
Haven't been to the site in awhile, but with the recent slew of media, I just couldn't resist.
After watching some of the videos on GameVideos that actually play the in-game audio instead of crappy music, I've noticed that the tension from silence and character dialog is insane. They did a really great job with the dialog and sounds of pain. The choking sounds are down right terrifying. Really helps add to the atmosphere. My favorite saying is Francis' "Close the Goddamn DOOR!"
Another very tiny detail that really stands out is the player's flashlight actually being on the gun. Not that hard, but very few games actually get this right. It looks really good and I love how the ray of light actually shoots up onto the ceiling when you're reloading. Nothing scarier than popping another clip into your pistol only to bring down your flashlight into the screaming faces of the undead. Tiny detail, huge impact. Well done Turtle Rock/Valve/Whoever's idea that was.
The gun sounds also sound a lot better. All in all, I'm as excited as ever for this game. Can't wait to play it in 2011.

still wish they would add a lighting animation for it though, it would make it to where you would need teamwork more, anything that adds to teamwork could help:)

Making the throwing animation longer adds to the teamwork? I don't think so...
Lots of people basically say, making the weapons more useless and the odds more overwhelming would create better teamplay, but that's just wrong in so many ways... I'm sorry, I could start a whole thread about this argument. ^^
