Nice interview.
[...]we've taken this to QuakeCon, we've taken it to World Cyber Games, we'll be taking it to Leipzig[...]
If I understand this correctly, that's a confirmation for the Leipzig Games Convention, a pretty big, international event in August this year. (21. - 24.)
It's only about 500km away from where I live. Maybe I'll pay them a visit. :)

thx squerrel, that's the first interview I've actually read out of the new ones...
I think the guy interviewing brought up GOW2 too much.....even though it is the biggest competition, in terms of Co-op experience, everyone knows (even my uber GOW obsessed friends) that L4D wins HANDS DOWN in that category...no one even likes GOW for it's campaign anyway, it's all for MP.
& he says their bringing in testers all the time, and I remember when I emailed booth a while ago, he said well we have testing in seattle every once in a while, maybe u could participate...I'm gonna email him about testing.

No a demo and beta are 2 separate things. There will probably be a beta for the PC much similar to TF2. Who knows if the beta will come out on the X360 though.

Is this interview going to be in the new xbox magazine?
This is a completely off topic, but I didn't feel like hunting down that thread. I heard that l4d is only going to be about $30 or $40. First off is that true, secondly, is that also the price for the 360 version?

well, if I don't mean to sound like a graphics whore, but I hope they cut it by 10 or 20 dollars, because the game does look like a counter strike mod. I'll still buy it no matter what though.
10 or 20 dollars
I´m 99% sure they will sell it for more money. Seriously 10-20 dollars is almost nothing for a game that took a few years to develop. IMO L4D looks by far better than any hl2 mod or total conversion out there.

So you're thinkig full $60 or $50*pc version*? thats what I was thinking too. Someone brought it up that it doesnt look up to date in the graphics departmen and said, like as if he knew, that it would be $30 or $40.

That sounds like complete bullshit to me. It's just as I said, about consumers having the REAL power, but not using it. I know Doug or someone said that they were going to make sure that we could play it before we bought it, they just didn't know how they would do it. And that wasn't even that long ago. I think they need to release a demo. This game is not getting that much hype, or at least what it needs. Valve can't rely on just their name to sell the game. Sure they're marketing at shows and other places, but the next step, to reach a bigger audience, is to show it on TV, and then release a demo, get people hyped for this game.

Clearly "before you buy" meant during that tiny tiny tiny 24 hour window on the release date... And no one can buy the game before or after that 24 hours.
