ATi's new card should have just came in yesterday I believe, any way, benchmarks and comparisons having been popping up all over the place.

First off URL (http://www.gamespot.com/features/6170621/index.html) Gamespots info on the 2900, first two pages are a good read if you understand any of it, that last three I believe are just camparisons between the card and nVidia's 8800GTS SLi. Most of them are pretty close, if the 8800GTS takes the lead its buy a little, except for in S.T.A.L.K.E.R, who knows why. But ATi seems to take most of the wins.

Oh yeah, if you're interested theres an odd video of the heavy weapons guy from the new Team Fortress game, talking about his huge gun. Its really odd, the weirdest marketing I've seen since the PS3 adds.

I found this comparison a little more favored to ATi though, check the FPS marks for HL2: Episode 1, ATi, takes a BIG chunk off of nVidia. Im guessing once again ATi is the most recommended for HL2 and upcoming Episode 2. This actually makes me want to get it for L4D, im positive my 8800GTS already can but wow, thats a pretty big difference. Also check out the 3D mark at the very bottom of this URL (http://www.reghardware.co.uk/2007/04/24/amd_radeon_2900_tested/)
page.

Not to mention its $400 bucks, here in Canada that 8800's released for $600 more or less so wow.

Oh yeah, the point of this topic. someone was going to buy this card right? If so, recommend it (or not if you dont like it) im thinking of buying it too but im undecided, I might as well wait for the XTX right if its coming in late july (hopefully around L4D)

Of course they use the 8800 GTS.. Still, I never really trust those one name places. Nvidia with their new cards we own very hard (forgot the name of them). I am not a fanboy, I actually use to use ONLY ATI then I got into Nvidia and I like them better.

Most review sites seemed quite disappointed with the HD 2900 XT. I was really excited for it and about to buy one until I read how it performed. 8800 GTX is on the way.
