Open Beta for the free-to-play online shooter, "Combat Arms", by Nexon, just began a few days ago. I'm fairly digging it myself so far. Ain't bad at all for a FREE game! And it's still only in beta, too. Worth checking out I say.

EDIT: apparently more than a few people are having the same problem. so far no one can figure out how to fix it. i guess you can only play the game one time lol

When I tried it all it did was reboot my PC, twice. Made a post in the forum but they deleted it, gg nexon....

Update: it started working again. but after leaving it to sit while i went to eat, it wouldnt let me click anything once i returned.

Im beginning to think that if you leave the game idle it screws up?

@NdRw: One tip, make sure to always minimize the little messages/friends box in the lower-right corner, as it takes all focus when it's opened and won't allow you to click anything else till it's minimized again. I thought the game kept hanging on me till I realized one night that this is what was happening. Not sure if that will help you, though.

At any rate, Nexon announced that there was a server problem this past weekend, which was the cause of everything being broke. Couldn't get fixed till yesterday (Monday) because they were all off for the 4th like everyone else. But they patched it and did some server work so everything appears to be up and running again for most people (running even better now they say).

So if anyone had trouble over the weekend, try it again now! Once you get in and play some you'll be hooked. Try a crazy round on the "Junk Flea" map. You'll see. :)

Nexon's kinda a gay. It's a little gimmicky and the pay to win(ugh) aspect is stupid......

Since when Nexon started making pay to play games? They use micro transactions for in-game items. All the games are free.

If I could've paid 10$ for a badass item in World of Warcraft, I would've. Those items would require me to waste multiple months grinding instances to get them. But in an FPS, I wouldn't buy items. Skill is always more important FPS games.

The game is CS wanna be with pay-to-keep items. This is the type of game the Asian market goes crazy for, but no one else thinks the same.

Hey, NdRw, has that problem you were having resolved itself yet? Just curious.

CA is now at the #39 slot (out of 1039) on Xfire's list of top games being played (and lots of of CA players don't even use Xfire so that's even a small sampling of what's going on with it), just below many of the best games out there (and rising fast), and above lots and lots of great ones as well... and the open beta just started a week ago! Before that, it was in a much smaller closed beta for just one month, so uh, it's doing just fine. :)

P.S. They're about to roll out some new game modes (CTF is one) and very, very cool new maps.

actually it has. however, after realizing that to keep the weapons you buy, you pretty much HAVE to pay.

havent played the game much after that realization, as I am broke both in game and out lol.

I downloaded it the other day. I'm surprisingly good at it. Which is a first on a competitive FPS.

EDIT: Me and BaldingSteve played earlier. Its great for a free game and really the only FPS I actually enjoy playing, that doesn't involve AI enemies that is.
