...i agree this isnt the place... this is going to end it ones and for all. sandman can tell story's that prove he does exist and I can tell story's to prove he doesn't. This is one of those truly not worth arguing about thing's. In my opinion religious debates are the dumbest, because no matter how good your proof, no matter how hard you argue the other will never be convinced. I respect sandman and his belief, and i respect he is willing to defend it but i truly think if anyone says anything about religion just let it go because it never ends well.

Yeah, this fact alone contradicts most of the lies they tell you at church (sorry, im a bit jaded towards christian/catholic religion) I was brought up with the same thing, except I turned out quite different. The more I went to that place, and forced to believe in blind faith and get NOTHING out of it except a free cracker for the hour. The more I despised it. And still do today. You can serve a life sentence if you tell a child to kill someone, they dont know whats good or bad. But you can shove religion down their throats? And potentially start them off the wrong path, who knows if this kid is going to commit genocide in the name of God, its happened before. Arks right, most of the wars have been caused by religion, or religion played a big factor. Its influence IS dying out though, as money and resource is becoming (well it always has but people are finally seeing it) more important. The last place religion will die at and stop playing a part in politics and war is probably the middle east. For obvious reasons.

Thats not to say religion is good for nothing, its united people when they otherwise wouldn't even look at eachother. If anything its been the greatest public beacon in history. You would never get the same sort of response from a telecast, or nation wide broadcast. Of course lying to people to achieve this goal is obviously not the way to go but still. We're only human :)

Not to mention religion has a unique influence on videogames. Halo draws greatly from biblical figures, as do movies, songs etc. I like my Halo.

Im just going to try and straighten a few things out lol...

Christianity became a big part of English culture when the Roman Empire invaded and decided to claim half of england...and actually, as the Romans concerd most of Europe, christianity is very popular... it was kind of forced upon us if you will. Obviously Christianity has stuck since then, but as we were invaded by multiple countries throughout history, religion became a huge problem... it actually caused a lot of civil war outbrakes.

Note: when the Romans invaded, there was no King of England... so they kind of did us a favour when they took control.

When Royalty became a bigger factor, the church wasnt in control at all. Even though high priests were very powerful at the time, and owned a lot of land, they still feared the king, as his word was the one that actually meant something.

The only time the king actually began losing control is when the government was created. After the government became a large part of our culture... the kings power slowly slipt away... Ironically... i dont know very much about the history of Britain, mainly because i dont find it that interesting, but hey... i know enough.

I would rather have my trusty .320 Arctic Warfare rifle as company, followed by a pair of Deasert Eagle's .50. I think we could get along just fine without some fool riding a shotgun thinking he/she could be of help. Going alone gives you many options, and its slightly more challenging... personally... i would be quite happy just running for days on end in the countryside... telling myself im running for a purpose when actually... im heading for nowhere. 5 clips for the rifle should do...yes... i can picture it now....

Sleep is very different to death. While your asleep your brain is active, this is nothing like death as you are dreaming and moving constantly. When you say &quot; i cant remember anything from last night&quot;, which is usually true. Doesnt mean to say your brain hasnt done anything. The brain has to constantly turn your body thousands of times per night to keep blood circulation, you have to breath, swallow, and keep warm via blood circulation. Your brain also uses this time period to revise the days/weeks you have lived through. The memory of the brain is like a hard drive. Old data, which isnt really used, is stored and eventually will be deleted as the neural path becomes weaker and weaker. The more you use information, the easier it is to relate to, because the neural patch becomes stronger.

Even during a coma or NDE (near death experience) you are still alive. Your brain is still functioning, and will continue functioning for about 3 minutes after your heart stops, or blood is restricted and cannot get to the brain for some reason. After that 3 minutes, your brain cells start dieing, but the important parts of your brain will keep on going until about 4-5 maybe up to 6 minutes at most. The brain is the most important part of your existence... because without it, you are virtually dead... when i say virtually, i mean, what people consider to be the soul, is gone. Your body can survive for a very long time. Give or take a week, but without the brain, you cant be brought back... However your body can be kept alive via life support... but thats not much good when there is no brain to control the body.

So you see, death is very different to anything, because death IS nothingness. Its a frightening thought if you dont understand it, which is where i begin to understand why religion is around. To think that theres a heaven, gives you comfort, and not much fear of death... perhaps that why soldiers with just a sword would willingly give their lives for a cause not of their own.

But even though i dont believe in all that... im not scared of death, although i would much rather die knowing i have achieved something in life, and i wouldnt let go of life without a fight... because realizing there is nothing after this, gives you an urge, an urge to make the most of things, to make a stand, and live through life the way you want to and let no one tell you otherwise because if you make mistakes... and turn your back on all things you wish to achieve, its a waste, not for others... but for yourself, because this is your one chance, one chance to do something you will be remembered by... to make life better for others who will live after you, and to give your part to the world, in order to ensure humanities survival. If you think that... you will live life to the full, and believe me... when the time comes... you will not fear death, you will be filled with happiness, remembering all of what you have done.

To die with a smile is my greatest leverage in life...
