Which will you play first?

So, you rip open your brand new box of L4D (not forgetting to examine that brand new software smell) and slam it into the disc drive and/or thrash your fist on the mouse to triumphantly click the play button on steam, and you're met with 2 options: Play co-op mode or vs mode.
Which do you choose and why?
I'm choosing the co-op mode with a password, just to familiarize myself with the game before I jump on in and try to kill other players.

Once the shock wears off that Left 4 Dead is finally out and that I really have it, then maybe I'll be strong enough to install and play it. And it will be co-op.

Versus, wont even try before I've played through all the campaigns. TWICE. On insane difficulty. Without killing an enemy. Without getting hit.

coop first because if you play as a boss infected first your going to see all the map and give away any suprises you might have when playing coop for the first time.

You can always add a password to the server.

It counts as the 'singleplayer' in L4D.

We should definitely open a "First Time Co-op" thread the day before the game gets released on Steam, because none of my IRL friends are going to get that version and playing with forum people should be fun, so... :)

Anyways, yeah co-op first, because Versus is supposed to be "remixed" maps of that mode and I want to experience them in a coherent fashion first.

:) Thanks for letting me know! Now I want it even more than before. Corpses stay, map editor, fun guns, fast pacing action, and two different multiplayer games! It just sound autstanding! I give a 10/10 to what I hear and saw so far! :)

I don't know, guess I'm still old school, because I like to actually go the store and buy a copy, in a real box, that I can hold, look at, and display for a bit on my desk.

That would be great: Smoker grabs him, he gets pulled out, swings down and slams into the side of the Hospital and dies/falls as the Smoker lets go.

At one point, the system allowed a "preferred infected" and the director would take that into consideration. With the new mode, it may be very different.

Don't forget, you can have the same experience in VS as you can in Co-op. You just have smart bosses (or dumber considering we'll all be new to the maps.)
