now this is just a fan-based bio for the characters,this is just for entertainment.nothin official here ppl.tell me what u think about it.


Bill: A retired Vietnam War veteran, he aims to live the rest of his life in his cabin on the outskirts of the city. Upon hearing of the outbreak,he heads to the city to visit his relatives. Unfortunately, when Bill arrives, his family is already infected. Narrowly escaping, he retreats to an electronics store,where he meets Louis.

Louis: A middle-aged manager of a discount electronics store, immediately closes his shop when he notices signs of the outbreak. Armed only with a handgun that he stored in his safe, he begins harboring survivors,one of them being Bill. After a few days, they receive word that the city has been closed off. They watch as fewer and fewer people roam the streets, and begin seeing more and more infected. As supplies begin growing short, Bill tries to persuade the survivors to leave the store and seek a safer place. No one agrees but Louis, and they leave the shop and the remaining survivors as they make their escape to the hospital.

Zoey: A nineteen year old heiress to the family fortune, Zoey's world changes for the worse when her parents become infected. Armed with a bat, she fends off her mother and hides in a broom closet until she stops hearing the pounding on the door. Gingerly opening the door,she leaves her lifelong home and heads to a bar for a pay phone.

Francis: A 30 year old biker/bartender,Francis uses the bar as a fort with his friends.Armed with a shotgun he keeps mantled on a wall,he and his accomplices kill any infected that enter. Reluctantly, he allows a young woman to enter his bar. After informing her of the lack of phone service, she secludes to a small booth. Feeling remorse, Francis befriends her. One night, as the survivors begin feeling more confident, they let their guard down and fall asleep without a night watchman.Almost immediately a horde of infected storm the bar relentlessly, overpowering them. Zoey is injured in the assault. Francis sees her unconscious and carries her out through the back entrance, seeking the nearest hospital.


It is at this moment that Bill,Louis,Zoey,and Francis meet. It is at this moment that they are the Survivors. It is at this moment that they are....

Francis's friends are dead. Survivors in the store are dead. Francis MAKES HIS WAY TO the hospital.They found a med pak. They are on roof because they can fly.

Here's my opinion on the character's backstories:

Bill, Francis, Louis and Zoey all live in the same apartment building.
And thats it.

The only real problem is Zoey, I'm really not sure if she's still rich in-canon, in which case she'd probably live in a house, not an apartment.

read the first couple of posts lol it explains anything that was missing.it could have made sense BUT,how do we know how long the process of becoming infected takes?it could take 5 minutes to a week,we don't know.they were heading towards the hospital.they weren't at it already.they were beginning their journey.this was a prologue.i did not intend to describe how they got to the roof.i just intended to describe how they all met each other.may i remind everyone that this was just for entertainment.most of the things i wrote probably DID NOT happen.it was just what i thought would be cool to be the background.its a prologue ppl!!!!ROFL hopefully this is the last time i gotta say it

Wanna hear MYYYY story? No? Well, you're hearing it anyway you jerk.

Bill: Bill is a retired Vietnam War veteran, who has taken up the bottle after seeing the horrors in the war. Bill frequents Francis's bar above all others, and has befriended Francis. When the infection broke out, Bill drove back to his house and retrieved his old M16, a relic of his war tour. Though he never thought he would use it again, he has been keeping it in top shape, and has even gotten high-capacity 50-round magazines for it. Bill used this to get Francis out of the bar, which had been surrounded by those creatures. Francis was badly injured, however, and the pair feared that they might have been infected from all the scratches and bruises they had earned from the crazed lunatics, so they headed for the nearest hospital...

Francis: Francis is a biker and bar owner. He has befriended Bill, the old Vietnam War veteran. When the infection broke out, Bill went to get an 'old friend' from his house. While he was gone, Francis took out his dusty old pump-action shotgun he used for scaring away troublemakers. He never thought he would have to actually fire it until now. He barricaded up the bar as best as he could, and waited for Bill. The infected found him first, and Francis got wounded while fighting them off. Fortunately, Bill showed up with a machine gun to save Francis. They then headed for the hospital...

Zoey: Zoey is the daughter of a wealthy family, but has vowed to not be a brat like most rich girls seem to become. She was driving home from school when the infection broke out, and the car crashed when a Hunter jumped onto the hood. Zoey's mother died in the crash, and was injured herself. Limping into a hardware store, Zoey met Louis, who almost shot her with a submachine gun. Zoey had no idea where Louis got that kind of firepower, but was too overwhelmed by what was happening to ask questions. Louis gave Zoey a Colt 1911, which Zoey had fired once at the shooting range. They were then attacked by a wave of Infected, but managed to hold their ground until it was over. Fearing infection and being in need of medical attention, the duo headed for the hospital, hoping to maybe find more survivors...

Louis: Louis seemed to be a hardware store manager, but was actually a delivery boy for illegal weapons which were sent to him from anonymous clients all over America. When the infection broke out, Louis was just examining the new package he had recieved and was supposed to deliver, an old-school full-sized Uzi SMG, and he heard a car crash near his store. Heading out to see what was going on, he forgot that he had a loaded illegal firearm in his hands, which basically saved him from the thing that jumped in front of him and tried to rip his head off. He almost shot the girl climbing out of the car wreckage as well, but stopped when she yelled for help. The two then fought off a wave of infected who charged at the store, Zoey having surprisingly good aim with the pistol Louis gave her. After the assault, the two headed for the nearest hospital, hoping to find aid...

The four survivors met on the roof of an apartment complex, where previous survivors must have been, for the place was stocked with ammo and makeshift explosives. After getting acquainted, they spotted a news helicopter hastily outfitted with a chaingun on its side. Calling and waving, they finally signaled the chopper with gunfire. The pilot said that if they wanted to get out, they would have to make it to the roof of the hospital nearby, for the streets were too dangerous and none of the other rooftops had suitable landing locations. They agreed, and started loading up for the trek to the hospital. The deathly silence of the ruined city had been disturbed by their gunfire, however. Not only the usual infected, either... Something terrible was coming. And all it was thinking about were the survivors. It would not stop. It could not stop. Not until all of the humans were left for dead.

She was staying at her boyfriends house, internet alias: Dontleave. Who was recruited by the United Nations Biological...Somethingorother Agency to fight the spread of infection before it was too late.

Unfortunately, when they was about to be evacuated from the rooftop, a tank came and threw a bunch of shit at them so they had to leave right away, leaving the hawtness behind.

Louis doesn't look middle aged. Middle aged suggests you're in your 40's. He looks to be in his very late 20's or early 30's. Francis looks to be in his mid to late 30's.

Bill: Once serving in the vietnam war, he was dishonorably discharged after his platoon mates accused him of the rape and murder of several village people. He returned to his home in LA to find his family gone, and the rest of the world wanting nothing to do with him. He resorted to alcohol to fend off the terrible memories of vietnam and his subsequent life. The only positive thing after that was buying an a shitty apartment conveniently a block away from a bar. On the day of the outbreak, he finds himself hungover in his bed.

Francis: A reluctant member of a biker gang, initially only joining to look out for his hot headed younger brother. But since his reckless actions and neglectful personality resulted in the death of his 9 month-old daughter, he has fully embraced his biker side in hopes of escaping his haunted past. Both of them frequent the same bar that Bill does, finding it easy to relate to each other with there shitty lives and strong taste for alcohol to whisk away their troubles, they become the closest thing to friends for men like them. On the day of the outbreak, Francis is still in the bar.. Resting after a good brawl.

Louis: The tentative salesman at a hardware store. He developed a depression of sorts from his routinely boring, lack luster life. He was never able to keep any friends due to this, and his depression developed into suicidal notions and thoughts running through his head. His girlfriend left him, eventually... Because of the reasons above, and forced him to move into a shitty, run down, drug infested apartment. He adopted alcohol as a pain reliever. He jokes that he'd probably kill himself if it weren't for his constant inebriated state, and his inability to even tie a noose. On the day of the outbreak he's on the roof of the apartment, contemplating his self conclusion.

On the day of the outbreak he was getting ready to take his lunch break when a man walked into the store, after attacking Louis a few employees managed to forcefully remove him. Louis then took the rest of the day off and headed home.

Zoey: A teenage daughter of a business tycoon. She lived on the upside of town in a deluxe apartment, on the day of the outbreak she was out with her dad in the rundown part of town, they were supposed to meet a client in an abandoned warehouse to make a deal. Before they could arrive, a deformed, obese man with boils all over his body walked out into the middle of the road and vomited all over the windshield. Her father lost control of the car and ran off the road. Her father was killed but Zoey escaped with a sprained ankle and ran into the local bar.

Bill: A Vietnam war vet that thought he had seen it all, massacres, rape, torture, suicide. He lived in an apartment building that looked like it should of been condemned years ago, he lived off the government and spent most of his money on booze down at the local bar. His only friend was a man named Francis. On the day of the outbreak there was a car crash about a block from the bar, a young lady came limping into the bar, they sat her down and called 911, no one picked up so they decided to drive her to the hospital themselves.

Francis: A member of a small biker gang, he grew up poor and still was, living in a piece of shit apartment, he too turned to alcohol to drown his sorrows. On the day of the outbreak he and his friend Bill took a young lady named Zoey to the hospital only to find it overrun. Making a hasty decision they decide to head back to the apartment and seek shelter from those "things".

Upon arriving they meet up with Louis, when they turn on the TV there is an emergency broadcast warning on all channels warning them to stay inside and avoid any infected. They scavenge what they could find from the apartment (including a few guns) and head up to the roof to wait it out, or be rescued.

As Zoey, Louis and Francis left the bar, the local raving lunatic, obsessed with his days in 'Nam came parading down the street screaming about the impending doom known as the infection. Louis had just been appointed assistant manager so he was now earning 50,000 a year. He had a girlfriend with a baby on the way and had finally kicked his severe smoking habit. Everything was looking up that morning as he was getting ready for work.

Francis was the leader of a gang of bikers with a heart of gold, going around stopping funeral pickets, protesting, helping stranded passengers and generally just being benevolent. He had just come home from a night-long community bakesale when disaster struck.

Zoey was a bright, upper-class girl who was just 'celebrating' her graduation in her boyfriend's apartment. She had just got accepted into medical school, looking forward to her future career as a doctor just like her mother.

Bill was a Medal-of-Honour recipient for bravely retrieving his wounded comrades during an attack even if it meant he spent the next 3 years as a prisoner of war before finally freeing himself with only a piece of bamboo, some string and a fully loaded assault rifle. He retired the week before and is now living out his life writing his autobiography.

And then just as they are all about to be infected, magical unicorns swoop in and gift them all with guns and immunity to the infection.

I stole half of it from other L4D fan fics, but I made up a lot of the other stuff, like Louis being a gun delivery guy. Also, I wasn't trying to be racist, but it's just that Zoey's 'signature' gun is the dual pistols, Bill's is the M16, which I made a believeable reason for him to have, Francis has a shotgun, which is still okay, but Louis with the SMG? He's a hardware store manager, for crying out fuck. Where the hell did he get an old-school FULL-SIZED UZI??? 1. The police/military doesn't use that. 2. The full-sized uzis aren't even being made anymore! Unless the uzi in the game is actually a mini-uzi. But it doesn't look like it. So gun dealer it is.
