get the omega driver instead of the usual ones also test and tinker with your video card settings you learn alot about things that way, in the prosses of me becoming a computer genius i had to break 3 computers tinkering and testing just to learn about computers. but thats for the hardcore computer things so don't weary about changing a setting and seeing what happens :) this is one of those things were id need to personally use your computer to help

go to start go to Control Panel (if you haven't yet push Switch to Classic view on the left its much easier to work with) there should be a icon that is the symbol, of the kind of graphics card you have click that and look at the settings, change, experiment, tinker. ill post up a pic of mine for you just in case

i have a NVIDEA GEFORCE GO 7400

caboos... please say you have tried reinstalling DX9.... the video card drivers, and, lol, have you tried turning off your PC for 10 seconds, then rebooting it? lol XD.

Also, can you play other games of equal graphics quality. i.e. Batlefield 2 / 2142. Or an RTS which requires a bit more video memory?

Arkeneaver

and also.... do you use teamspeak? If so... do you have a headset plugged into your intergrated sound card? (the sound card in the motherboard)

I found that using Teamspeak crashed source games when using an intergrated sound card... dont ask why because i dont know... but apparently, a lot of people have had that problem. To get around it, i use Teamspeak on a different PC.

Caboos... what about other source games aside from CSS... Do they work without problems?. If not... i recomend you do a complete reinstall of Steam.

i would sell the 360 because:

1. The PC crontols never suck... keyboard&mouse owns all except driving sims.
2. the 360 is old and has been stessed to its limites which is... full use of 512mb RAM and video pipelines... an example is oblvion and Gears of War.
3. with a better PC your going to have the benefit of a much faster overal system... so all programs will run slightly faster depending on Hard drive speed and buffer.
4. Pc games are far cheaper yet better at the same time
5. any console game will eventually be released on the PC so dont worry about missing out
6. console ports suck (thought that might be helpful) XD

Ark said it all. I totally agree.

And cabos it has to be the Media Center Edition cause I asked more people with same problems and they have it too. So.. get vista or XP Home.
