Hey, all. I'm new to these forums, so if I ask a few questions that have already been asked or give some incorrect information, go easy.
I've heard that there will be at least two gameplay modes to Left 4 Dead, co-op and versus. I find this a little confusing, and what's more confusing are claims that Infected gameplay will only be available in versus mode.
Is this true? Or have I been wildly mislead?
Also, what's with the new models? Are they the final revised versions? Because, in my personal opinion, they look terrible.

i think with infected play ..versus is a sort of dm against zombies and survivors...itll be played in one map as for the campaign its 5 maps
and for the new models i read theres a pick which skin you want type of thing and i hope im right about that because i dont really like new skins too much :)
hope that answers it
Oh and welcome to the forums :)

You can only play as infected on Versus mode, and yes, the models are final as far as I know.

Welcome to the L4D411 Forums.

It is sentences like this that causes the confusion on simple subjects. You can choose what character to look like. Given that the specific character is not taken already. /fixed

Yes, just to make it clear to our new friend Flesh; Concept-wise, the two modes are identical. They both have Non-Playable Hordes of Infected running around. Differences:
CO-OP Mode:
- It's basically Singleplayer with the option for other people online to play with you by filling the Survivor slots.
- Infected Bosses are Non-Playable (controlled by the AI Director).
- You play through the scenarios as if playing Singleplayer in other games.
VERSUS Mode:
- It's all about the Infected Bosses vs. The Survivors.
- You can join either Survivors or Infected Bosses. Like CT and T in CS.
- Survivors win by reaching their rendevouz, the Infected Bosses win by keeping them from this.
- You play one map at a time (which includes a few Safe Rooms).
I sure hope i summed it up correctly. I am not sure if there is a difference with Save Points with the two modes (where a Survivor starts from when dead and where a whole team of Survivors start off from after dying) (?)

And there's generic NPC Infected running around too. So, essentially you could set the levels in a sort of chronological order manually (one map is the hospital, next is somewhere in the rural campaign, etc.)

Added it to the summary, just in case ;)

I believe it was said that the Versus mode maps were going to be "inspired" by the coop mode versions.
Or at least subtle changes here or there.

They are the new concept, but not completed yet. Yeah, the community is 50/50 on which group of survivors is best (i like the originals, RIP :[ )
IMO, they ripped its eyes out and filled the sockets with salt and called it done.
