Buying X360 version b/c your pc sucks?

Trying to get a feel for how many people are doing this because of pc limitations and how many 360 users are out here on this site.

the good thing about the source engine is that it can run on most modern computers with settings high enough to beat console graphics and frame rates.

the only reason i'm considering getting the 360 version (along with the pc version) is to play with friends. i wish it was cross platform. :(

Well for the price of a 360 Pro thats 259.99$(USD) for that price for most computers can be brought up to speed to play most games on Med to high settings. but i do have to say, its all about what you want if all of your friends have the 360 even if i had a good computer, i would still get the 360 ver of the game. playing with friends is what this game is about so i would not skimp out on it.

The computer version of left4dead is much better than the 360 version. Computer hardware>360 hardware so Left4Dead on the PC is going to look better and have more features than the watered down 360 version.

The computer version of left4dead is much better than the 360 version. Computer hardware>360 hardware so Left4Dead on the PC is going to look better and have more features than the watered down 360 version.

I think its true the 360 has more mic users, because it's just simplier for people to get a mic for it. Plug and play. As such little kids tend to have more mics. On the PC it takes a bit more effort in using a headset on the PC (for some people just looking at a pc takes a bit more effort).
Its just enough to filter out those you want to have mics and those who you don't want to have mics. Plus left4dead is design to be playable for people w/o mics using the new chat/voice system which can be manually or automatically talking for you. For the 360 its automatically does it and you have no choice. Its auto w/ the option to manually do it too.

The PC version will be better for several reasons, but the most prominent is the free updates and content that will undoubtedly be released.

I own a 360 and am good with both mouse and keyboard and controller so its not an issue for me- but the fact is, the people who play on PC are better than people who play on consoles because mouse and keyboard is superior, period. I will stick to the PC because I dont want a bunch of failmates on my team when I'm trying to survive a zombie apocalypse.

HOWEVER- for the 360, the split screen is very appealing, because this is going to be one of those games where you all sit on the couch together, playing, laughing, talking about it as it happens. I might just buy both versions.

Even if I had the highest of high end PCs, I would still get it on 360. This is the only game I have ever gotten in which the platform I get it for is based on my friends. I think we can all agree that getting this game without any good friends to play it with is kinda missing the point.

I will be getting the 360 version initially as it will take some time for me to save up for a nice computer. As for playing with friends, I'm not sure how that will play out. I have a few friends with 360s, but they aren't as excited about it as I'd like. Not for lack of trying though, I prattle on endlessly about L4D, and make them watch all the recent videos on the web.
