Holophonic technology is amazing. You are able to achieve realistic sound through a normal head-set. Many have probably heard of Virtual Barbershop, and Virtual Matchbox (if not, links below (CLICK THEM!)). Its so insanely real if you close your eyes you will trick your brain into thinking someone is in the room.

Virtual Barbershop (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IUDTlvagjJA&feature=related)

Lots of 3D sounds (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wT1XuB95qMk&feature=related) (very cool)

Anyway. Why isn't this integrated into Video Games or Movies? I think after watching those videos you can agree it would make the experience soo much better. And way more realistic, ESPECIALLY for Horror. God... I can't even think about Horror...

If developer's have attempted or thought about attempting this, and you happen to know a little about it, please post. I really don't see a reason why not.
Your thoughts?

That was cool. I thought the Barbershop one was better, even though the second one had sounds in front of you, which the Barbershop one didn't have.
The name of your thread reminds me of a Hologram thing I saw once. If you will allow me, I'd like to post it here, rather than making a new thread.

Here it is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iOKS8_QFooM
I really don't know how it works, but it's neat.

I just recently bought a creative zen x-fi, with the x-fi technology stuff built in.

My first thought was to put virtual barbershop onto it. It is so amazingly clear, it put chills down my spine.

My favourite part is where the guy puts the bag onto your head.
