Why, people, why?

I think that thread was better left undiscovered.

hmm, remember guys there's no such thing as a stupid question, just stupid people.

That's bullshit, there are stupid questions and stupid people, there are just more of the latter.

the letter and number thing was stupid. But the colors.
Think about it, sharks only see black and white, therefore have never even heard of other colors, just shades of grey.
What if there are colors beyond what our eyes are capable of? O_O

Damnit... they've pulled me in :(

What if what you see isn't what I see, if your purple is my blue.

We would never know....

(lol this is fun)

I don't know whether this is good or bad,

we have to siphon our giggles from another forum(bad), but they aren't posting here (good)

But is any of this even real? No.

Really?

What is real? How do you define real? If you're talking about what you feel and touch and taste and see than real is simply electrical signals interpreted by your brain.

There is a whole philosophical branch that deals with that question called Metaphysics.

Lol, I actually had a deep philosophical conversation about theorigin of language this week, and your post reminded me of it

well technically that would be a problem with your eyes, the name we give the color is arbitrary but everyone should be picking up the same color no matter what they call it

Totally false. Haven't you ever met people who don't see certain colors? I know someone who doesn't see red, they see it as like orange. Something like that.

Yes, that would be a problem with your either your eyes or the part of your brain that handles visual decoding. I just threw in the last part so as not to confuse the other person since both language and color are being discussed,
So I guess I ended up confusing you, sorry :(

Holy fuck.

I found this thread again... And even though I had found the GT thread, created this one, and read the GT thread again...

IT'S STILL FUCKING HILARIOUS.

No. There are two types of color blindness. One where you see colors differently than other people, and one where you don't see much color at all.
I was referring to number 1. Even though it was a stupid statement. Because uhh... yeah. It just was.

Matrix LOL

Oh and my friend is colour blind and his condition is that he can see colours but he can't understand them in the same way dyslexic people can't understand words. He can't tell them apart and stuff although some colours he can tell, like yellow. Something to do with the triangle things at the back of the eye or something :S

Also my guitar teacher is a synthasesiac, that is relevant.
Damn I wish I was a synthaseisiac!
