I'm not even going to watch, if I remember correctly this event was caused by algae spores being picked up into rain water. It's similar to when ocean's change color from algae bloom. I'd have to look into it further if I really wanted to argue since the idea that the spores would be picked up with the water seems odd to me.

2. To make themselves famous
3. To bring fear and order to people (governments mostly do this)
4. To make people Appreciate life

but life still goes on no matter what
in a way Human life will never die
because somehow our cells will evolve and adapt to lifestyle,effectively changing our body and organs.
Maybe some day we will be able to live in space, where our body is living off dark matter, but for all we know at present time is that we cant.
