in case you haven't guessed, I fucking hate clowns, and I think that constant bass pedaling and screaming to where I can't tell what you're saying ruins it for me...you can't really ahve fun/sing a song that way....not trying to start a war or anything, cause I know a lot of people do/only like that.

Steve Miller, Kansas (The Wall=Win!), and Cream.
What I really think that is bad about music today is that it doesn't take much talent anymore. And also, songs from 20-40 years ago were much more depthfull, meaningfull, and talented. For me, music back in the 60's and 70's were just great. Those are mostly all I listen too on the radio.

Absolutely. If there is one thing i hate about music, it's the musical elitism. People should listen to all types of music and other people should be willing to share as well. Not much of a difference between a friend introducing you to a band and a video game.

It has to be bass. Either that or it's a VERY deep guitar. The whole intro is way deeper than any guitar I've heard (http://www.playlist.com/searchbeta/tracks#7%20nation%20army).
Either way, that part sounds just as good on the bass.

I doubt really any of the people on here have heard of them. Kutless and Skillet are Christian bands. (http://www.playlist.com/searchbeta/tracks#Rebirthing)Skillet is much more rock oriented (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y6obINPvZtg) and Kutless has a good mix.

It's guitar. He's using a digitec whammy to lower the tone an octave down (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=psbs_8kkWqg), making it sound similar to a bass. You can also hear the effect around 1:47 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sqaPi57_Byk) in another song from a different band he's in.

Yeah, I looked it up. Doesn't make too big a difference between a bass and a normal guitar.. Sounds perfectly fine on Bass.
EDIT: Another band I've been listening to: Family Force 5 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yPXvf67g9fY). Totally off the wall, not usually what I listen to, but for some reason I like the music. (1:38 is about my favorite part of the video)

Some songs by Kutless do have some screamo parts (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eEpAS8Vs8oc)(starts at 2:49 and only lasts for a few seconds), but the majority are rock ballads. Then there are the ones like The Feeling that I used in my first AOTD video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PM-RGUKBB_w).
Then there are the Christian bands that nobody realizes are Christian. P.O.D., Switchfoot, and Relient K are good examples.
Edit: Other bands I like you guys would know: Puddle of Mudd, Creed, Three Doors Down, Evanescence, Nightwish, Weird Al, Basshunter, The Fray, Devo, Incubus, Nickelback, Nirvana, Paramore, The Postal Service (I'm sure you guys know them, they play the UPS song which is called Such Great Heights (http://www.playlist.com/searchbeta/tracks#Such%20Great%20Heights%20Postal)), Queen, RHCP, Say Anything.

I'll listen to anything that sounds good to me. Mainly in the rock genre, of course. Anywho, I have way too many favorite bands to start naming them off and such =/
Personally, my favorites are Guns N' Roses and Tenacious D. I also like quite a few of the local bands in my area. It surprising how much good music you can find that isn't on the radio, or is, but not in you city/state(Or Province)/Country.
Sweet! I love Guns N' Roses! I'm still a major fan of their guitarist, Slash =] He is a god! I dunno if he's still in Velvet Revolver or not, but thats another band I love listening to every now and then.

Maybe because you don't listen to people randomly screaming their asses off.
Kidding, they don't do that too much. Never really listened to them... I'm an Alt. guy.
Ahh that's the problem I am the same. Though I might buy an album and see how it goes down in my books.

My friend recently showed me another Boston band called State Radio. I listened to one of their songs and I must say I wasn't displeased.
