You could try Stubbs the Zombie: Rebel Without a Pulse. You play as the zombie. The game doesn't have a very serious tone to it though, its mainly about the humor and of course, munching on brains.

You could try something like Silent Hill, Resident Evil or Eternal Darkness. I hear those are good. Other than that there's Dead Rising...Dammit, we need more zombie games for the PC (or Mac!)

Also, there's zombie mod for counter strike source

there are three zombie addons to source:
zombie mod (if knifed by zombie, you become one)
zombie horde (zombies are ai controlled and kill you, not turn you into one)
zombie hell (zombie horde with a number of zombies to kill and a time limit to kill them in)

Dead Rising for xbox 360 owners

No zombie games for ps3 owners

Also, stubbs the zombie is good if you would rather be a zombie

It pits one zombie master who controls 4 different types of zombies in an RTS view against survivors who try to complete objectives. Very fun.

I would have to agree with Bub. Zombie Master doesn't really feel like you're fighting zombies. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who's already got their hopes up by learning about L4D.

Dead Rising isnt that good. I have it on my 360, its fun for a bit but I dont like the fact that you get pressured to beat the game in 6 or 7 hours, something like that. Doesnt give you enough time to explore and do what you wish. Although the shower head thing is pretty fun on the game. :)

Best way to practise is to set yourself against 30 bots on counrter strike source and give them knives and try n take em out, very fun and challanging

just play counter strike source servers that have zombie addons

zombie addons include:
zombie mod (zombies infect people they attack, turning them into zombies)
zombie horde (zombies are usually bots and actually kill you)
zombie hell (this is new, it's just like zombie horde, but you have to kill all zombies or complete the alternate objective, before time runs out. Alternate objectives are the bombing and hostage rescuing. Also, more zombies appear the more you win until difficulty level 5 where a single boss zombie appears)

counter strike source is only $20 if you don't have it.

You should try Resident Evil 4 on gamecube or wii (heard the pc version sucked) Its not completely zombies, but its close enough and hellafun.

I'm playing through RE4 on the Wii atm and it's friggin' brilliant. It's the only game so far that actually feels enhanced by the Wii remote.

zombie mod for css is prob the best thing out with zombies other then that we have to wait for l4d :( which i hear is coming out in november but will find out when e3 is on which is like what 2 days away

Zombie hell for css is just like left 4 dead right now. It's different from zombie mod and zombie horde.

both servers have professional quality models and are a ton more fun than zombie mod or zombie horde.

Iknow for some this may seem way offf...... but I copleted all the maps on R6 vegas co-op with a friend (terrorist hunt) a few days ago, I know they have guns,they shoot, hide *NOT ZOMBIES AT ALL* but just the big rush of (quote from me &friend) "gogogogogog run into that room" then waitig for them to break in the door and then mowing them down and then getting to one more guy "shit were almost there" on the map and having him break into the window behind us "FUUUUUUCKSSHHHIIIT!!!!!" and kill us....actually when reading that back it sounds like i been playing l4d lol. I actually didn't have L4d in my mind for the first time in weeks lol.
