What do you think? Not many of those Cold War kind of "Russia Invades US" Fiction type games out. I mean besides OPF and WiC. But think about it, its an MMOFPS. It would be like this, the whole United states is the map, one or 2 servers (West coast, east coast, maybe some more for Europe players) you can go to just about any place in the US, the more detailed areas are the actual cities. For little towns and other cities they just put some buildings, not so accurate. There is fighint constantly going on. There are US bases and Soviet bases (The Soviet bases would probably be stationed in a place that cant be taken over). The large cities are the capture points and at the end of the week the capture points are counted up and the winner is declared then the servers restart (All the destroying and scorched battlefield goes away) and it starts all over again. Everything is fully destructable. There are 3 Sides. United States Military, Soviet Union Military, and the Freedom Fighters that are under the United States. I'm not sure how clasess would be but its pretty self explanitory. Just think though, it would be awesome. You would go in one day seeing this battle going on.. lets say.. St. Louis. The city is in ok shape and the battle is going on. Next day you see the battle is still going on but its cooled down to just infantry and sniper time (its night time) and the city is pretty much totaled. While in the city you see tracers and explosions from farm lands outside. I think this would be a lot of fun and it would take a while but I think it would be a big hit. This game would be based as if the Soviet Union invaded the US in 1989.

It doesn't have to be a Cold War MMOFPS, but I thought it was a good idea. It could even be an Iraq War MMOFPS or something.

So what do you think?

All you basically need is a WoW of earth with fully destructible environments. Hell, you wouldn't even need quests! Just news from the front saying things like "Chicago has been retaken, press on to Lincoln" or "San Diego is under siege and needs assistance!"

One problem though is the sever restarting thing. I'm not a big fan of victory point control things. I say the server restarts when either the Invasion is repelled or every major US city is captured. To make it fair, they'd have to give the soviets stronger defenses or something so they aren't repelled right away.

The problem is the amount of resources required to make and maintain a MMO game, a MMOFPS is even more problematic id guess. I dont think atm given the current technologyy and resources it would even be worth attempting by anyone or they already would have done it, because a MMOFPS would sell loads, its like a combination of most played and bought games FPS and MMO.

Look at Novalogics Joint Operations. 250 Players is there max and there is one server with that. They maps you can use are HUGE you can actually go around the "world" and come back on the map.

Hasn't come out yet, so I'm giving it the benefit of the doubt.

I hate that WoW has become a synonym for MMORPG.

And also 13 year old children...

Which brings a correlation bewteen MMORPGs and 13 year old children. Cause and effect. T.T

I like this idea, but my one question is:
Why haven't they made this yet?
