the guy that was playing mentioned that the friendly fire is a option that you can toggle on/off ... i hope this is just for the 360 Version because that is something essential to the coop experience. It also would get to easy if you canīt hurt teammates ...

I agree, with FF turned of it becomes a spam fest of Molotov's and Pipebombs.

Actually this guy is wrong. He really doesn't know a whole lot about the game if you watch the entire show. He gets A LOT of the facts wrong.

Yeah, like "melee weapons".
Yeah, since when has a gun been considered a melee weapon because you can hit people with it. In that case, everything is a melee weapon, like molotovs.

I don't see how it's bad to have the option to play without FF, you just turn it on and no problem.

Casual player who are bad at FPS can turn it off if they want.

They got mainly all their facts wrong and at the end the other guy (Bud, I think) got left ON FIRE in bleed out mode and the other guy is just jabbering on about somethin'. Wouldn't like to be on his team. :P

naw man, i remember exactly in a interview on GT, where mike himself or chet said that friendly fire can NOT be turned off in ANY difficulty level, but that could have changed, but from that video, it is NOT changeable, unless they made same last minute changes before the game is released.

Exactly. It has been like that since the beginning. You can't have a game focusing around teamwork if you can just shoot through them all with no consequences. Which is why I am mad about the clipping through players thing.

I don't think that's the Demo.

VALVe said the Demo will include the Hospital Level...as in inside of the actual hospital. As well as the area outside of the hospital.

I turned it off as soon as he said "made from a little company called valve"

that's just as bad as shooting yourself in the foot if your hosting a show for gamers.

The guy was a complete idiot. He obviously just skimmed the overview of the game that Valve gave him and the answers to the obvious questions, because he didn't know anything about the game. He was unsure about every answer he gave, and he was usually wrong.

Gosh, you guys take this so personal :S

Also looking at the comments on the youtube video...no wonder gamers like us are labelled as aggressive people, as soon as you hear something thats not the same as your opinion or something you've heard elsewhere, you go nuts like the guy has just killed your family or something...

The guy was playing the game right there and then, yet all of you who HAVE NOT played the game are saying "YOU CANNOT TURN ON/OFF FRIENDLY FIRE!! RARARARARARARRRR!!!"...
Yes, it was previously stated that it was not toggle-able option, however, as someone said earlier in this thread, "things could have changed since then".
If it is or isn't a toggle-able option, WHO CARES, just watch the gameplay video and enjoy, i'm sure most of you have heard plenty about the game to become self proclaimed experts anyway, so why does it matter if someone who reviews tonnes of games and can't spend their time drooling over every last drop of new content for l4d, gets his information incorrect (maybe he is correct?) according to what you've learnt?

You'll play the demo soon enough anyway, and then the full game, then you won't be watching any more previews or anything for it :)

I tend to agree with you, but keep in mind that doing this is his job, and doing it wrong makes this show worse than it could be.

Correct. There was, is, and still is absolutely no way to turn off friendly fire. Friendly fire is a integral part of the Left 4 Dead experience because it forces players to work together and be aware of their surroundings. There will be absolutely no way to turn it off. Period.

I think why most of the people are mad is because it's like the guy just quickly read over the information of the game, and then while he was playing the game, he wasn't paying attention to anything else.

Which, is understandable. To an extent.

It's his job to give people who haven't heard about the game or know little about it to give them the correct information, and him just being like "Duhhhhh....You can.....um....yeah." isn't really going to help people. I do appreciate that there additional footage, but it might have helped a bit if he'd actually put the controller down for atleast a second to explain stuff out ;p

Friendly fire is pretty important too. You take out friendly fire, you're taking out a lot of the game and toning it down. Turning it off would take out that tension about when people get swarmed. Do you help them by shooting, and risk hurting your team-mate? Or do you hope that he can defend himself? Or do you risk your own hide to run in there and get close to the enemies so you can help another out? It takes out those options if you don't have FF on.

FF would make it so fucking easy. Just throw a pipe bomb in a group of your friends who are swarmed and bam. No more zombies.

everything is a melee weapon, like molotovs.

That would kick ass.
