Left 4 Dead Blew me Away

I just played it earlier today, and i was just blown away by this game, i mean, i thought it was going to be amazing, and ive been waiting forever, but it just surpassed every expectation i had for it.

This game is amazing. I would like to meet someone who doesn't like this game, so i can punch them in the heart.

Ive read every thing you can possible read about Left 4 Dead, and seen every movie there is, but none of that prepared me for how awesome the gaming experience actually was. Seeing the AI director do its work was just awesome, i played through the demo multiple times, and it was just as exciting as the time before. The frantic shooting, the high paced action, the feeling of being completley fucked made Left 4 Dead one of, if not the most fun ive ever had playing a game.

Is anyone else who tried this demo nearly as impressed as me?

i agree man, the game was better than i thought. i freaking LOVE this game, i cant stop playing the demo. and i even managed to beat it on expert once........ONLY ONCE!!!!!!!!!! i beat advance sooooo many times, but expert is a WHOLE nother story!! expert just seems like its TWICE as hard as advance, and friendly firing really fucks your day up and the fact that theres VERY little health packs around.

and man, everytime we play it, it REALLY does seem like a whole new experience. man, my heart be PUMPING when a horde comes or the tank or something comes out of no where!!!!

and everything runs so smooth and the controls are on point!! the analog sensitivity is just right. man, this game is the closet to perfection of a zombie game ever. this game will set standards and raise the bar VERY fucking high.

Just so you know Dre, on expert there are no medkits laying around, theyre only at the safe rooms. Only thing you'll find laying about are pills.

so that explains why we kept finding nothing but pills. i KNEW it was something like that, i was even talking to my team mates saying that i think on expert theres no mad kits. because every med cabinet we found had pills in it.

I've been playing this demo since 7:00 am EST; its now 6:16 pm

I have yet to get tired of this game; and its only TWO MAPS!!!!!

Me and 3 other guys played the 2nd map for about an hour and a half or more on expert and it was amazing every time.

Valve have really outdone themselves this time; I can truly say this is the best, most fun game I have EVER played

I think my favorite thing was in the subway, right before the tunnels (the room with the two little cubicle things, where tickets are sold)

Two teammates died right after eachother, and my friend got knocked down and there was NO way I could've saved him, so I had to run away (I had hardly any health left)

I get into the tunnels, get through the first subway car (I'm fleeing for my life) and I was thinking to myself "Watch, there's gonna be NO zombies for once, but the tank is gonna come"

Well, I thought right

Here he comes, chasing after me, so I start unloading into him

He starts throwing a rock, and I crouch RIGHT before it gets to me, and he charges me

The AI screws up, he does a 180 and starts running backwards, but he's right in front of me (I was running backwards as well)

I killed him by complete luck

...then a single zombie knocked me down

I agree. So i got on when I got back from school and was amazed. As we go into the streets I decide to be clever and shoot the car and activate the alarm to see how hard it would be... everyone died except for me.

Awesome stuff, I just wish I had a mic so I could talk. Anyway, after beating the demo on advanced several times, I'm going to try expert.

I haven't played yet either, I got up at 2am &amp; got halfway through the download process &amp; then I accidently cancelled the download &amp; it seems like there is no way for me to get the download to restart. I was really upset at myself for being that retarded &amp; I couldn't get to sleep until about 5 because I was so pissed off. Now I'm feeling better, life has gone on...how long could I really feel betrayed by my stupid (half asleep) actions...my loathing ended when I decided to let go &amp; just keep remembering that I can start playing on the 11th...OMFG how could I have done this :( FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK THIS REALLY SUCKS!!!

Me and some other guys have a blast. They atmosphere is generally laughing and having fun. Nobody is very serious. We'd KILL EACH OTHER on accident all laugh our asses off.

Honestly, I've had a blast on Expert. We die so many times, and its NEVER frustrating, because of how hilarious the situation gets. I smiled and laughed more than I screamed and jumped. Advanced is fun to have a definite win and just mess around with friends. The best part is, for some reason, everyone I meet is extremely friendly and enjoying their play. It helps the game more than anything most developers can do - it makes the game enjoyable on another level besides game play. Its half of the equation to good memories, which are good players.

Honestly, after circumventing the Matchmaking system, I never stopped having a blast. Great job Valve, you really did pull it off, even with the annoying ass matchmaking, which is obviously going to get fixed. You left the server browser in there for a reason.

I can't get the server browser to work, I've just spent the last hour and a half trying to get onto a server with my brother, and we've been connected to the same PASSWORD FUCKING PROTECTED SERVER LIKE 20 TIMES.

I will have to agree with most of the ppl here... this is seriously one of the best games i have ever played. I have played a lot of FPS... ever since Doom... and l4d is one of the only games that has ever scared me. even my wife is getting into it. She knows all the zombie classes and tries to warn me if she sees them while covering her eyes. hilarious. but on a more serious note... this game literally made me shit. After the first 10 minutes i had to run to the bathroom.

cant wait for release. the game may have its small glitches, but who cares. its a game where you get to blow the fuck out of some zombies, do the little things really matter?

Thank god there is a good zombie game out for 360. not sure why, but i wasnt a huge fan of dead rising. i think it was too funny to be taken serious. this game actually feels like you are alive on z-day.

Yes....I have now played it SOOO many times now...and i STILL love it..it doesn't get old..and alot like other games when u die so many times it gets frustrating b/c u know the same stuff is going to happen...same spots for enemies and items..same events, EVERYTHING is the same..not in L4D. The AI Director is probably the best thing that u could ever put in a video game....i've laughed, screamed, yelled more than i ever have..and i've had a blast doing it..i love having my ass handed to me by the AI Director b/c it's fun...i've now beat the game numerous times on Expert...but i still play it b/c i know it's going to be an entirely different game when i do play...the music and the atmospheric tension is some of the best i've ever heard or seen in a FPS or a Survival Horror game period. MOST people know how to play well and work together, and mostly everyone is nice and that helps ur team move forward. Everytime u have a new team it's a totally new game....now when the game itself comes out i will be playing on Advanced b/c the game will be alot harder with all 5 maps and the AI Director even though on Advance will make the game play as if on Expert..i can't wait!!!!! great game...gonna play it ALOT more...9 days!!

Man, reading these posts makes me happy that it's a great game, but also sad because I can't play it. I just wanna have those epic moments with all you awesome people, but I don't think I will.
My laptop is just failure, I already know that I won't have the ability to play through the movies with anyone here.

not really, theres some people who just dont like zombies or FPS, they're a rare breed but thet're out there, they rather play their wow or RPGs and stuff. no hardcore stuff for them.

Just the demo is epic fun. I didn't know what to expect from trying this game, but man.. just the demo is like, endless fun. The only dislikes I have with the game is that when ever I play at least, my survivor AI team mates never pick up any Molotov or pipe bombs. Besides that, the AI is pretty grand in general. One problem I had with the graphics is some times in the subway the ground and walls reflect the infamous pink and black checkers. It happens at random, but goes away when you exit the server and go back.

The game is awesome and I never experienced anything like it.

Dude.. go to account management by going to your own gamertag. From there, go to 'Download History', then re-download it from there.

Ok, go to the marketplace slider thing. Next to active downloads it says account manegement. Then go into that and go to download history. redownlod.. problem solved. Ive done this so many times i finally figured it out.

I beat this on expert a ton with other people... it helps that we constantly try again.

This game doesn't truly scare me until I execute my extremism.cfg and end up with 3 witches on the subway map in random spots &amp; 0 second boss spawn interval.
