I have it, it is a really fun game. The max is 32 players but the maps are usually very small so firefights are very intense. It isnt a hyper realistic shooter but more realistic than a game like Counter strike source. I personally like it more than CS:S. There is no shooting while jumping or anything like that and you die much easier. The graphics are good as well, it looks like HL2 episode one but with some added effects like blood sprites and bullet penetration

??? no it looks like a prettier version of CSS. no cell shading or anything but it can look a little cartoony at times, like when a nade sends bodys flying lol. It looks aweome though

It's really intense. I'm a WWII freak so that game naturally appeals to me. It's a lot more realistic than CSS in terms of damages, recoil and other small things I don't quite know about. With that being said, you tend to die easily in that game. The upside to it is that you keep respawning as it's basically a combo of Capture the flag and TDM.

There's also a good selection of skins and quite a big fanbase for the game so custom content shouldn't be too hard to find =)

Overall, I say it's worth it. It's good to leave behind the hacking lifestyle of CSS to a more "cooperative" experience in DoD:S. If you wanna go in for a quick frag, go on in.

No grenades... that kinda pisses me off, but the rest of the game looks amazing.

No Grenades in TF2 is like the equivalent of no AWP's in CS:S.

Conc jumping was my favorite and it, and totally humiliating heavy weapons guys as scout were my speciality in TFC.

I hate AWP, but then again I hate CSS overall. so I can see why it is the most used, AWP > all. Oh and deagle too.

Magnum sniper rifle sure... but its an AWP. I didn't know people still called it that. I've only heard it called that once or twice.

AWP stands for Artic Warfare rifle Police (model).

I gotta get TFC but do people still play it?

Rannos

yea, people still play it...

As for DoDS...I really don't enjoy it in comparison to the original. The class system blows (everyone is either support or sniper,) Teamwork is dead (try being a MG once and see how much your team supports you and vice versa,) and the custom content is usually crap (another Orange map, anyone?)

Save some money and buy the original. Sure the graphics are crappier and there isn't any fancy physics, but it's worth the trade off.

Played a version of DOD:s which had a zombie mod, not as good as the CSS version, but was certainly pretty cool!

ya but it is a magnum rifle. Because magnum made the arctic warfare range, thus why it states it as a magnum rifle. However, the arctic rife is kind of like a "super rifle" if you will, it uses a huge caliber and has an accurate range of 1-2 miles.

But this points to the fact of: "if its so powerful, why does it not show more damage when shot?" well exactly, realistically, if you got a headshot, their head wouldnt be their any more. As a matter of fact, the velocity of the slug is so great, even limb penetration would course it to tear off, or make a hole on the exiting side as large as a dinner plate. The AWPs are really meant for Anti-Armor rounds, but the "police" version changed the barrel to take smaller shells. You rarely see the police division with these types of weapons any more though, sniper divisions usually use smaller arms like the "scout" as they are lighter and overall, easier to use. Someone at my local airsoft arena has an Arctic Warfare rifle, it weighs a tone because it's a complete replica, it just doesn't fire live rounds, that's all which is different about it. The design is so very sexy though :p.

Anywho, as far as DOD is concerned, it's a great game. The rifles arnt that good though, because the "iron sighting" takes a lot of time, in reality, you can be looking through the sight in about 1 second. You have to wait a good 5 seconds before your looking down the barrel on DOD, but other then that, it's a very good game.
