First off im new to the forums, i dont usually sign up to forums, but im really really looking forward to this game so figured why the hell not. So just gonna start by sayin Howdy.

I have a few questions that i could'nt find the answers to, if you would please be so kind as to answer them. Firstly do all the survivor spots on the server have to be filled before the game starts or can you just play it on your own or with one or two other friends? Also can you play it just against the Zombie AI or do infected have to join also?

Does a single shot to the head with any weapon instantly kill a zombie (boss infected not included, hehe and i dont mean have a pipe bomb land on their head XD)? I hope so because if its just infected/zombiefied people running around it would b more realistic, i know if some 1 shot me in the head i'd sure go down :-D

My last question is about while you guys were playing. Did you ever get into a situation where you could of barricaded yourselves in a area and blast through the windows or something?

Thanks for any answers, Its good to be alive.

Duke

Hi and welcome

1) It's very unlikely that you will be able to Survive with less than a group of four, although we had some good runs with only three. Fortunately, you will be able to have AI Survivors on your team if you do not have enough players (we did not get a chance to play with Survivor AI, however). We did play against Infected AI quite a bit, and in many situations it was hard to tell if we were facing an AI controlled boss or one controlled by one of the devs there. There were no restrictions as to when the game started; as soon as someone left the safe zone it was game on.

2) In my experience, a headshot always took down a regular infected. I cannot be positive if all guns could take down bosses in one headshot, but I know squerl regularly one-shotted bosses with a hunter rifle. The meatier bosses (tank and witch) took quite a few more shots. I mostly used the M16 so it was a little tougher to tell just how many bullets hit and where, as I was typically firing in small bursts when aiming for headshots.

3) There are times where you may use doors and windows as barricades, as many doors have locks. Zombies will begin to bash these in, or Survivors can blast holes through these in order to shoot. So yes, there were many times where we were blasting through doors as zombies were tearing them down. Locked doors were also a good way to cover our backs. What is nice about this feature is that the doors take visible damage (with holes opening and widening)

Excellent thanks for the response... cant wait to hear about the witch it keeps being mentioned but kept underwrapps.

For the head shots i was wondering because i fancied a run with my pistol, the old DE on CS style of play hehe... I wouldnt excpect to be able to take down a Player controlled/Boss with one bullet tho... Not with any gun, except hunters rifle.

The doors sound awsome, cant wait to push a file cabinet infront of one :-D

Thanks. I got wood over that statement. :D

edit: Damn that sounds exciting. I've made so many maps for LOTD where that was a major feature. One of my faves being a recreation of the home from the book "I am Legend". Zombies tear at boarded up windows and bash through the doors. It's a real hoot. I'm really glad the devs included that.

Damn nice work on that map - even though I've been told that LOTD is the nadir of crap.

Thanks. Yeah, the stock single player is crapola. The multi has been worked on heavily. It really isn't bad at all, especially invasion mode.

It'll be in bargain bins if you can find it. The PC version is the one to get as all the new maps and mods are solely for that. The xbox version apparently was a superturd and is best avoided.

Myself and others have done a lot of work on the game. There's multiplayer invasion maps for you favourite zombie movies - Dawn of The Dead 78/2004, Day of The Dead, Night of The Living Dead, etc etc. A lot of what you're seeing coming out in Left 4 Dead is already modded in the LOTD multiplayer. I suggest you folks try it out. You can check out maps made by myself and others at undeadgames.com forum (my username is burtreynolds). Anyway it's something to pass the time until Left 4 Dead comes out :D

Sorry, can't help ya there ;-)

What I can do is link you to a clip I just uploaded to filefront. It shows the zombies coming from the shadows and down the street. It's about 45mb. This is from the I Am Legend Map (suburban setting) .
