My other comp died or something like that. When I turned it off in a bad way and tried to restart it, it just kept restarting itself after this menu where it asks you to pick safe mod, normal, etc. So I wont see you till thursday with new comp. Or I might use my paretns lap top like right now. Later!

Well I might do that when we have to give the one away to my sis. But since im getting a new comp it doesn't really matter.

Leaving your pc off for a while might work, i had exactly the same just a few days ago.

Over heated? Do you overclock? But im sure it will tell you if your overheating.

how dare you blame your poor pc for continuously restarting... this sir is your bios program. Pfft dont you just hate it lol... guess what you've got to go and do now... actually no don do that, ill just send you a helpful link which gives you a tone of things you can do to fix the problem. Why am i doing this? because i cant be bothered to write up all about "how to go into safemode... restore bios and restart machine again" it really is in the title huh? but if its not that, it could be all of these cool problems:

URL (http://www.velocityreviews.com/forums/t208675-xp-continuously-restarts.html)

And btw, your pc might have a low temp warning system in the bios settings, which means if you go over that temperature, your pc shuts down, nifty... but not so nifty if its set to like 50 degrees, tis great to go on someone elses pc and tell it to shut down if it breeches 20 degrees... you watch them get into a nice word doc and start typing and...well... you know the rest, then you turn on the stop watch and see how long it takes for them to figure out the problem. Be warned, this can take hours.

Right before it went into the loop, it said CPU is overheated, continue? And ark, I cant even go into safemod or my bios. It never works, I clcik safe mode, loads everything.. restarts.

you should be able to go into bios, not even overheating can stop you. And btw, have you ever thought to look inside the case?// your PC is preventing you from blowing it up.

Take the side panel off and turn the pc on, your CPU fan might not actually be working, if thats the case, go buy a new one. Also, if you put your hand close to the heatsink and you cant feel any heat, the heatsink isnt doing its job, so you need to buy a new heatsink. If you feel a huge amount of heat, chances are, your CPU is dieing.

I cannot get to BIO's. I opened the case and it was really hot in there, the CPU fan was working but I think its blocked by my card. The CPU is behind it and no fans are pointed to it. It died I think. But, I have a new computer coming thursday so thats ok :)

my old pc runs at 80 degrees on standby XD... keeps my legs warm, its an old processor with virtually no cooling, tis good stuff. Ironic that its lasted me a little over 5 years and my new pc barely lasted 6 months. Had to replace the mobo.

90... mine BARELY peaks over 35, on the hottest day (Atleast here in Canada) with the heater on right behind it (I can't turn the damn thing offf, whats worse is that my brother puts boogers in it, and the heat melts them up so I can smell)

You don't seem to know exactly what you are talking about....I bet all you needed was a reformat, or BIO's flash. Not a new computer....

Edit: Or a reseated heatsink or new heatsink/fan.

A good 'ol dusting can do wonders for temps. Just buy a $5 can of compressed air....

I'm not throwing it away or getting a new computer because of it. We are going to fix it and I ordered a new computer a week before this happened.
