For any looking to pass the time until L4D release, I'd recommend a great classic game:
Super Ghouls 'n Ghosts.

One of the most difficult 2D sidescrollers that I have come across. Track down an old SNES copy or download it on your Wii.

Somebody from our Community Chat recommended BrainBread to me yesterday, because I haven't got HL2 yet, only HL1 (Orange Box ftw!).

It's alot of fun, yet old. For the very first time I killed a zombie, it felt like L4D, though. ;)
