Its been under development for about 5 years. You just heard about it? Its an amazing piece of work. Yeah the dev guy said they have to fix one grenade holstering bug and then it will be done and time for upload/download. I saw them in the server about an hour ago testing it. They are off it now, so any minute probably.. or I hope.

Now those that have been dedicated to the mod (unlike me) get a US file planet download, no torrent, and the IRC 'release' channel is mutted so the admins can spam Fileplanet.

It's so annoying to play this sometimes, since your teammates are too stupid to understand orders. I kept telling them to help me cap this point (since I couldn't do it by myself). I was the leader, so I put those markers on the compass thingy. BUT NO! Everybody was just ramboing and they NEVER, not even ONCE followed my orders! They didn't even reply in the damn chat. I hate my teamates because they are trigger fucking happy and cant wait a second to see if im an enemy or a teamate. I popped up to flash my light and didnt even shoot this guy, I must of popped up 5 times to show him I was on his side, he was only litterally 8 ft away. This game really needs medics, I know its meant to be a fast tactical shooter, but for peets sake. One hit kill every time and there's no medic? Everyone knows every soldier in the world carries bandages... And there is a bandage key in your options but I don't even know if it works or not.

Very rarely are there instances where someone should die in one hit. If it was for realism, USMC would survive a lot more often because they actually wear body armor.

Even I notice this, I pegged a guy twice with my pistol on the foot because thats all I could see of him and he died. Only takes one shot with a sniper rifle if you hit their leg. In those instances, in a game like Fire Arms you would start limping and bleeding and a medic would be able to patch you up.

Oh well, we can always wait for Fire Arms source.

I'm just suggesting they add an area between getting hit and being dead where someone can pick you up, patch you up and let you go out again

You always here a distant fire fight going on, it sounds sweet. USMC would not survive any more just because of their body armor, they have many open spots and usually I see their head pop up and hit that or spray into their pelvis area. Its only a beta and I dont think they balanced where the shots go to their health so calm down.

Go wait for Fire Arms source, this game will be patched up and you will turn back to this.

They did one thing on damage, the weapons. Sniper = 1 shot. Sometimes with my M4 I put about 3 rounds into the guys legs and shit.

Meh, I just played it.. I really enjoyed Red Orchestra with its iron sights and movement, but it wasn't doing it for me in INS. I thought it was really high quality work but the UI wasn't very friendly, and I know that might be intended for realism but there's a line where realism is a detriment to the game. Yeah, I like it though, very realistic that you don't see the ammo unless you're actually reloading. But sadly, the thing you see when you're reloading doesn't even work most of the time. I turn up clips and clips and it always says 6...

Well, hey posted the change log and there's still one VERY important thing thats not on there. Is the screwed up height/camera...You're camera is higher than your head, so people can hide behind sandbags and shoot thinknig they have a clear shot... but all you hit is sand. And no one will see you.

This is pretty much my favorite game at the moment. Very realistic (It is pretty much the same as red orchestra but in the middle east). The voice acting is pitiful though and there are a fair few bugs but other than that it's great! My name is Dellington on it btw.

Yeah, takes coordination to win if you're American though, as they are usually attacking... They just need to iron out the bugs and make a better UI

Yeah, it takes a lot of coordination. I had my buddies playing a game with a clan, it was just us and the clan as USMC on a Push game on almaden... me and my friends took the building on the left, the one with the giant blown out hole in it and flanked the Insurgents as they rushed into Mosque... Then the clan moved in, it was pretty awesome... We didn't win that game because we couldn't take the last objective, and it was push... so for 8 whole minutes it was us camping, but not spawn camping the enemy... My final score was around 88 kills and 2 deaths.

The map with the giant hill the USMC has to get up of takes a lot of coordination especially. Usually USMC, without anyone leading will run around like chickens with their heads cut off. But with coordination, you just rush the hill, and for some odd reason, you will always get up there before the bulk of insugents do so... It really sucks as Insurgent getting over to the road block and seeing a dozen Marines aiming right at you. Luckily as Insurgents, they can hold the street with one sniper at bridge, and people flanking from left on the hill.

I was a lucky sniper on Insurgent side on the bridge just picking out Marine after marine coming up the road to Bravo, and my team covering the hillside. The other sniper had a mic so he would call targets of higher priority... Snipers, Rifles, Machine guns --- Rest... Me and him were 0 and 0 until the end of the round where the scores were stacked up... I bumped up to 56-0 (KD:R) and him 74-0.

The game isn't like CS:S if you're good you won't find yourself dying a whole lot unless you're really trying to attack or the team is really sucking.

Well I went off to upgrade my computer to the max, I havent paid yet but the cost will be around 600 - 800 dollars. Fun but buggy, and poorly optimized. It will hold off until Quake Wars, which will hold off until Bioshock, which will hold off until Crysis...

Hopefully somewhere in there Left 4 Dead comes out and that'll hold off forever or atleast Starcraft 2!

The patch is really good. Leave it at that... You get another 10-20 FPS.. To me it doesn't really make a differences. There's also a new map. Yay.

All this Insurgency talk has me reminiscing.

Does anyone else remember playing the very first public release of the (then) Counterstrike mod? When the weapon drops were still the green HL cannisters and there were only two model skins, almost identicle to the point of rampant accidental TKing? The only way to tell the teams apart was the short sleeves on the terrorist model. I remember the map, storming this mansion or compound or something, and the counter-terrorist team started on the other side of the perimeter wall, in this little gated corridor.

Those were the good ol' days. =)

The one I'm thinking of was the very first map, pretty craptastic by any standard. Maybe it was called estate ... too long ago to remember the map name.

I also remember playing that map with the underground parking garage constantly. The one with the vents that every asshole with an AWP would camp. Good times.

Thats kind of stupid, because the devs should know we cant take off the HUD and stuff. Unless.. its a private server then those people have an advantage. Since about everyone in my clan has it I might get them to make a cool shot and submit it in.

Anyways, Insurgency is awesome and quite fun. It does get frustrating where you're running up the slope of a hill or across the street and randomly get shot dead.

I wish they'd give the Marines armor or something because not all shots are kill shots and it's only the luckiest of ocassions that someone lives after being shot (me for example :P)

The whole grenade launcher bug MUST be fixed...it pisses me off seeing such a negative score.

It seems the new patch has covered the TKing thing. God damn, that's bloody annoying. If anyone plays with a Tker, you'll probably stop playing the game, I almost did but got quite addicted to it and went in for me :)

Overall fun game, can get quite repetive and boring if you're not THAT patient with it.

Not exactly, it's a lucky occasion that someone lives after being shot, but people don't die instantly from a pistol round 50 feet away square in the kevlar.

Not to mention the other major bug, Im not sure if they fixed the height discrepancies... But I was being insurgent ninja and whatnot, and I see this USMC guy just leaning down a hallway right infront of me (I was behind him though) so I'm thinking... Execution style pop him the back of the head... IT TOOK 4 SHOTS WITH THE AK-47 to kill him. Incase you have such a monumental doubt on this, I was less than 2 feet away from him... and when I shot him a big red whole appeared on his helmet and a splatter of blood on the opposite wall...

no wonder I have such a hard time getting people who have their heads barely peaking.. >.<
