I think ImageShack decreased the quality a bit, it looked a lot better when I was playing the game, either way I thought I'd post it cause theres just something about this little scene that looks so superb...

film grain is at default level actually, but thats what probably is makin it look lower quality, cause the film grain is static on the pic rather then moving around like in game.
still that part where the plane crashes, the first time i saw it i was like :O

Yeah, I can't wait until finals are over and I can finally start playing. 6 week winter break ftw.
and that is why Dead Air is my favourite campaign

I get the feeling that you see things more easily in darknes with default filmgrain on.

First time I saw the plane crash with my friends, the first thing that I said, and I'll never forget this, "Oh my God.... THE PILOT IS DRUNK!!!"

Why do people use film grain?
Because it makes the game look more like a film as it's supposed to be. It's part of the atmosphere, you generally don't notice it really.

Why DON'T people use film grain? Why not just get rid of the vignetting, the contrasting, the color correction, and replace the models with CS models?
It doesn't look bad in my opinion...it makes the game look more movie-like, and it serves a purpose as well...it implies detail where there isn't any.
I think the game looks ever so slightly more boring without film grain, as it reveals any bland textures or aliasing.
