So here it is, i go to town today to get l4d, (im in england so it only came out today) i then go to my friends house and play it for a few hours, (BTW i LOVE the multiplayer!!) so then its time for me to go home, so i get the bus back to my village, on the way back i stop to get a kebab, which took FOREVER! (they just lost a customer) finaly when i get home, i start playing l4d whilst eating my kebab (omg amazing combo) then all of a sudden my xbox 360 freezes, so i restart it, then when i turn it on..... yep, i got the dreaded 3 red rings of death! i could not believe it, i was restarting my system loads to see if i could get it to work but it was not meant to be :( i was gutted!

Has anyone else felt the wrath of the 3 red rings?? :'(

Yes , and i took my xbox outside and with all seriousness , Smashed it up , burned it , chucked water on it , got sledgehammer and smashed it again. then mailed it to microsoft with a note saying "fix that" and have not touched a 360 ever sinse =).

hey man, got to youtube and type in "RROD fix" and watch a bunch of those videos and find the one you think is the best and do some research to learn as much as possible, so watch alot of them, to see whos doing the same process to fix these xbox and find some that are highly detailed. i watched one and it broke it down step by step and i followed those steps and my shit was working in around two hours of work.

you have to get some new tools, because your going to be changing something inside the xbox itself and adding new stuff on it. the xbox has a design flaw, so every xbox that has that design will mess up over time, microsoft did that on purpose so people would buy new xboxes after over time AKA making a profit off the same people. but you can fix that problem, by watching the videos.

the only videos that permanently fix the RROD is the video that has something to do with taking the "X clamps" off. if you find a fix that does nothing with the x clamps, its not a permanent fix, dont even waste your time trying those out, they may work for a few days, but it will fuck up again, and will probabaly make your 360 even worse. so do it right the first time. you only got one shot, if you fuck something up, your screwed, so do research to find the best one.

I was going to scoop up L4D for 360 on Wednesday, the same day the NXE went live. I woke up that morning, turned on my controller (turning on the 360) walked out of the room to the kitchen to make up some breakfast.

Headed back into the room and I see the tv is still black...look down to the Xbox. "FUCK. NO. FUCK...NO WHY..GOD WHY!?" lol. Yep, my first red ring attack...the 3 rings (general hardware failure) So I boxed it up and got it sent out to Microsoft within the hour at UPS. Expecting it back in a couple weeks, ah well... I'd be playing it on my PC but my video card is a bit dated so I can't run L4D, but I can play TF2 just fine - so I'll be TF2'n it up a bit more than usual.

ironically the exact same thing happened to me. 3rd or 4th time my xbox got the rrod. At least u got to play multiplayer, i was playing single player an d i had just gotten to a tank then it just froze. im worried that after the 3 year warranty for rrod the refurbrished xbox peice of crap will just break again.. its been 2 weeks now and i still dont have my 360 back. arent repair shops the best. hope you get yours back soon enough
