Even with some ppl on these forums and noobs alike i would expect on the Lvl of expert difficulty to know the roles of each gun's strenghs and weaknesses...I've played with some ppl off of here and noobs on XBL and the inexcuseable friendly fire is driving me crazy!!!! when can i find a solid team that i can play with on EXPERT difficulty to act as a competent Unit?

I have problems sometimes with people that can't check their fire, but not nearly all the time. Are you just lucky, or do you play in such a way that makes yourself hard not to hit?

thats what im saying dude. but it was one dude, who was just doing STUPID shit. i aint going to say his name, because i believe he from this site because it was a friends only game.
well, me personally, i dont feel im great enough for expert, so i rarely try it, right now, im trying to beat all the campaigns on advance before i give expert a try. i've beaten blood harvest and dead air on advance. on blood harvest, shit was cake even on advance. we post up in the barn on the second floor, and two people on both side of the ammo pile, two watches the ladder, the other two watches the hole, we was taking EVERYTHING out that came through, hunter boomers and all, but it was the tanks that was fuckin us over, but two people with shotguns up close and personal while the tank trys to kills one person = tank gone in seconds.

This irks me too, but even more than that, I hate when I have a teammate who constantly strafes and crosses into other peoples line of fire. If you ask me, that's just asking for it. I try my hardest with these people, but all that does is turn me into such a cautious gamer.
It's good to constantly be aware of where you and your teammates are. set up a base of fire only change positions when you are sure others are aware that you will be crossing their line of fire. If you can, circle around behind them.
This is a game about teamwork, and all those run and gun Rambos out there need to learn to work with a team. Forget who gets the most kills, if you stay as a cohesive unit, there is no reason for TKing to happen at all.
Communicating also works, tell people "hold your fire, i'm going in" or "changing positions check your fire" or "taking left corner" or something and people can anticipate where you will be and know that they will not accidentally shoot you. I know I turned this problem upside down and flipped it around, but I think it works both ways. stay out of their line of fire and make sure they know your location at all times. If all teammates can do this, you're set.

I haven't had any problems with friendly fire yet. The only problems I have is when I'm playing versus, a hunter pounces me, and my teamate that was right next to be is going the other direction.

I agree with you, I'm a damn strafer though.
But I try to avoid lines of fire or if so I crouch or hold 'shift' so I 'm not running and team mates can predict my next movement.
But communication is the best solution indeed, so as LSDWolf said on a previous post, if you don't have a mic, at least have audio...

I agree with the whole team mates running into my line of fire thing. I admit I do occasionally hit a team member by mistake when I'm playing but when someone runs out in front of you, especilly when your trying to kill a horde of infected, is just irrtating because you can't avoid hitting them.
LIke mazouth I tend to crouch down in tight areas so that if I'm in front we're not limited to just one person shooting infected, but even then I have occasionally been shot in the back by my team mates. I mean, what the hell kind of person has such bad aim that he shoots me in the back when there is space above my head.
*sigh*
Some people should just sit in the corner and cry while the big boys do the work.

O jesus, I was just playing the worst game ever with people who kept shooting each other. So much friendly fire, and it seemed like I was the only one who kept it under control.
Ending up leaving the match as it was so bad, not like I culd vote them out.

I always make sure to check my fire and not hit anyone.
But I have to admit, one time I didn't realize that the guy playing as louis was reviving zoey (they were right in front of me but I wasn't looking down I was looking ahead shooting over them) and so once louis suddenly popped up in front of me I instantly saw the tie/shirt combo and shot him down......he's the only person I'd ever mistake for a zombie.

If I FF somebody in expert, then I give them my health-pack.
Still, I rarely FF somebody on expert.
But if somebody FF's me in expert, and they have a health-pack/pills, I demand they give them to me if they put me below their level of health...if they refuse then it's booting time.

It's what I call Halo syndrome. Most of these players have just come out of playing Halo or Gears of War and just keep flailing about running in front of other player's fire, weakening them significantly, then the "WTF" "Heal me" No you moron, stay out of our line of fire" stuff comes up, so the game breaks down and chaos insues.
It's hard finding players who have discipline and can play as a team, not as a player.
Not much else you can do but Avoid them and move on, hopefully get a better team.

we all need to start a forum that only people with mics, skillz, and people wanting to play on the hardest mode, can play. That way, we all give our gamertags, meet up, and have a nice game without annoying punk kids friendly firing at us or screaming through mics with their high pitched chipmunk voices.

Not everyone has friends that play this game. It's odd, but none of my friends will touch this game, and most are bigtime zombie fanatics. I usually play with people from here though, so a lot know what they're doing. For the odd random games, I always stay in the back. If I take lead, I almost always get incap'ed within a few minutes.
I'm certain it will get better though. Unlike other games where people taking things too seriously and strategizing can make the game too serious to be fun, this one needs it. Most people will smarten up sooner or later, you just have to keep in mind that the game has only been out for a week.

My worst FF incidents are when people run in front of me. Shot the same guy 3 times last night. He was the only one I shot too. Hence I'm thinking it was more his fault than mine, but every single one was a damn near perfect shot :(
The rest of the time I just occasionally clip people with the shotgun when I'm shooting zombies off them, for about 3 health. Better than the zombie eating their face right?

Well make sure you let them know to crouch, or else they'll more than likely get hit.
Also, if you have a shotgun, you shouldn't be in the back shooting past your team. The spread is way too much to make it effective enough while not clipping the guy in front of you.

The one reason i dont play this game
Because of fucking strafing rambo noobs
There should be a rule
Like you have to complete all achievements except the expert ones to unlock expert :)
So no tking noobs can playwith you :)

qft +9000.................people will get better. i've personally haven't played with that many randoms that both sucked AND weren't even trying to get better. even a simple "oops my bad" is a good sign. more often than not if you're patient with them and tell them what they're doing wrong in a nonhostile manner they'll try to improve. not only does this make your experience better but it will better the community overall. that or if they just suck and don't care they'll likely get kicked so often that they'll quit the game entirely which is no real loss.

I played with a person last night who claimed he was "pro", then it turned out he didn't know jack >.> PuGs are trully rediculous. The only times I've ever friendly-fired was from trying to pick off zombies on my teammate's blind-side.
What's even worse is when your party shows no remorse when they "accidently" shoot you. Even more terrible is when they blame you. Especially when they run to the back of the line blazing a shotgun.

I threw a molotov and a guy run on it and then died. He said it was my fault and tried to kick me, so we begin to insult each other until someone leave ... Victory was mine. Or just saying: Some times people run into our molotov/front expecting to get killed or they are stupid x.x

If you are a server admin you can put a consol command in server.cfg for no friendly fire in Expert. Also the problem in Expert is that shotgun has wide range so its easier to hit someone you can adjust that through consol to shorten the shotgun's wide range fire.

I Actually work with my team because the motto Work Together Or Die Alone really is the truth. I dont even try to play expert with bots because there so stupid half the time all they do is just stand there when you get snared or pounced they just keep fighting and ignore your helplessness. Expert Yes is ment to be played with Smart Humans that have common sence and not be retards or t'kers. Add Me my gamertag is SmokinDtJoint.

You: the same and have free time to play often. Send me an invite for Expert campaign or a friend request. Gamertag: "The Nerevarine"
I haven't survived an Expert campaign yet because servers disconnect and stuff, but the one I made it to the Finale on I died while firing the last bullet into the last tank before the vehicle came. I can survive it fine, I just need to stop trying to be the Tank-slaying hero I wannabe.

My first ever Expert campaign was on No Mercy. I did fairly well with an AS leading, crouching. Heck, I was even able to shoot infected off of team mates when they were being swarmed without a single FF incident. It was great.
The huge problem though was there was the one guy, ONE guy who thought he was so uber he could just strafe around and shoot randomly without thinking when infected showed up.
We got the finale and literally every time we failed it was cause we ran out of health packs from him shooting our entire team. I even remember one attempt I was incapped to my limit, and then on my last "life" i was simple punched in the face by an infected.
Needless to say I've had no motivation to try it again yet. I don't ever see me getting that "whole team has no FF" achievement or whatever anytime soon if that keeps happening...

You can always kick the player and run circles in the safe room while you try to invite a friend to play... never know when someone may just join, as well. Sucks to have to kick someone after playing through 4 rounds with them on Expert, though. Just gotta make sure you got the right people I guess... I've had fairly good luck for the most part with random people.
It's important too to stay out of the line of fire - I know what you're thinking: "I never..." but honestly I find myself dodging erratically once in a while and I've been fortunate to catch myself before I took some bullets, if you're stopping and going or otherwise doing things unpredictably call it out - don't shoot, I'm zigzagging! Or something. Also, some of these crappy players will get better, or they'll get their achievements out of luck and stop trying (we all know some of them are simply 'boosting' or at least trying to).

Building a network of expert players is a very simple albeit slightly long process, but only if you're an expert player yourself. A few of the friends I started out playing with are just barely at an expert level so I had to go find some.
You start or join an expert lobby. You play the game. If someone is great, add them as a friend and they will reciprocate. You can't just take someone's word for it. It's jarring how far off someone's skill can be from their mouth.
You do this every once in a while and even if you get one player for every couple games you play, then you're networking. But you have to go find them. They won't come to you.
If you do join a game and everyone's shit, be respectful and just leave. If you see someone who is legitimately trying and seems like they could be good, share the wisdom. As long as you're respectful about it, people won't mind taking advice.
Even though I don't play with beginners, I'm still willing to stick around and show them the ropes. Everyone starts somewhere. Basically what I'm preaching is, R-E-S-P-E-C-T. Aretha Franklin style.

Yeah Its pertty insane when i play coop split screen with a friend beacuse if we play it on normal its like on advanced. Also in the demo i played on the comp with 4 other plp it was on normal but when the infected puched us we would lose like 10 to 5 hp a hit lol =).
Ahh, the old Steam dilemma. They're not really 'friends' in the sense that you have anything in common with them. That's why Steam should rename it as "List of people you once played with and didn't TK". :D
btw I'm not new to FPS and am usually quite good (?) at team games like TF2, but after seeing some Expert games first hand (usually from the floor where I'm being mauled) I've decided not to attempt Expert games until I'm half decent, if for no other reason than to keep a player slot free and not be a liability they have to scrape off the floor every ten seconds.
Having said all that.. on the flip side, I do not appreciate starting a lobby at my chosen skill level only for one or two people to join and try to get me to increase the difficulty. If you don't like it, leave and find a server at your difficulty level!
However, if you are more experienced and want to go through a campaign with me on my difficulty level, and perhaps share some tips and tricks along the way, that would be fine. I've had some great games this way.
Ok, rant over.

On Normal, which is difficulty for versus, FF is almost irrelevant. I'll gladly autoshotty the smoker pulling someone away, it'll do less damage overall that the person getting smacked by the smoker. I know your talking about expert and whatnot, but a lot of people play versus, and then play Co-op with the same mentality.

worst is when using the sniper rifle in scope mode, and someone steps right in front of your crosshairs the moment you pop off a shot. no time to see them and not pull the trigger, all you can do is watch them die for no bloody reason. luckily people usually understand they died because they moved two feet to the right.

Expert mode is no joke. I dunno whats worse, TKers or being feet from the safe room on full health, with health packs still intact when the others decide "We should go over [insert location here] for pills." So we go, and that spawned a tank. Oh joy.

Never run in front of someone with a hunting rifle. With the shotgun and m4, they at least have like half a second to see you run into their field of view. But people who are sniping will never see you coming.
I may or may not have shot a few of friends who have run in between me and a zombie while I was zoomed in. >.>

Me and my friend tried public matches yesterday, and holy shit it sucked. The first one neither had a mic, but I didn't really care. then they tried that shitty skip the apartments exploit, on expert. Waste of medkits T_T. after that they contently tried to kick me for nothing, I mean we literally just started lol.
The next match we tried was even worse, we were on blood harvest on expert, my friend said something as we were picking up guns and the kid screams "SHUTUP" into the mic, and goes ape shit. we ignore it, cross the bride and the kid throws a molotov into the house and hides in a closet while we burn. after that we pretty much just all killed each other while fighting over live. :/
