Akimbo Assassin restrictions?

Is there anything you can use other than pistols? Can you use explosives?

yea i just got it and i didn't even pick up a main weapon or use the mini gun

and also don't pick up any explosives like the pipe bomb or molotov

u can still use propane tanks and gas tanks

I went through without using anything other than the pistols. The achievement states 'Survive a campaign using ONLY pistols'. Therefore, I only used pistols.

I'm pretty sure explosives aren't allowed though.

I picked up an ar15 because my party was crying, but I completed the whole campaign without shooting one bullet (From the rifle >.>). I did use it for melee. I never got the achievement, but that's probably because I died from a stupid mistake during finale.

You are allowed to use pipe bombs and molotovs. I just got it today by using them. Just don't pick up a gun, don't use the minigun, and make sure you start from the beginning of the campaign and see the intro movie. Also make sure you don't go idle, because that will disqualify the achievement.

I think you're not allowed to use melee. I ran through Death Toll once only using pistols, but I used melee a lot. Didn't get the achievement so I tried it again, this time without using melee at all and got the achievement.

Yeah but it was a single-player game, so I couldn't have possibly missed the intro. Guess it was just another achievement bug.

Guess so. Did you pick up a main weapon? I had to start over once because I picked it up and that isn't allowed apparently.

you can pick up a main gun, just do shoot it or use it for melee. you can use pipebombs and molotovs, you can even have ur main gun out as long as u don't do anything with it. I have the achievement.

The first time I tried, I screwed up and accidently Melee'd with the health pack and lost it. I never picked up any weapons other than 2nd pistols and always made sure that was the only thing I melee'd with and now I have it. I wouldn't risk using anything because if you fail after the campaign you will just be frustrated.

I did it without using medkits, main weapons, molotovs, pipebombs, gas canisters or pills... But I used the minigun at the end so it didn't count FFFFFFFFFFFFFUCK.

OK, I went through No mercy using only pistols, NOTHING ELSE and I didnt get it... but here's the thing that probably voided it : When we started the map, I was the last one to connect and during that time I was replaced by a bot who took a shotgun but didnt shoot. I called for a map restart and we finished the whole scenario.

I was extra careful not to use anything else but propane or gaz tanks.

Do you think the achievement is canceled even if we restart the map?

OK to clear this up (I got it perfectly fine using these).
You CANNOT pick up a weapon.
You CAN use Molotovs, Pipe bombs, Gascans etc...
You CANNOT use the minigun.
You CAN Melee.

I'm positive that I lost it the first time I tried because I meleed with a gas can once.

I got it the second time using only pistols, gas cans (shoot, not melee), and propane tanks.

Ive completed this achievement 4 times but never got the achievement for it :/

I even tried not picking up anything at all, not even a second pistol, and I never touched a minigun, shot an explosive, or healed. Still didnt get it, and I was there for the intro movie and never went idle :(

I got it by using only the Auto Shotty, the Assault Rifle, and the Hunting Rifle. Using anything else voids the achievement.
